Here are hotel safety tips for women traveling alone.

Pack as little as possible so you don’t wind up playing bellhop to yourself

The room in which you sleep and bathe is a very intimate space. And you know that hundreds if not thousands before you have stayed there. How do you know they weren’t sick? But you can get through staying at a hotel while greatly minimizing your risk for infection.

You take an Uber pool or shared Lyft to the airport to save some bucks. You start talking to the other passengers, and wind up telling them all about your trip. You may have just let many strangers (who know where you live, because the car picked you up there) just how long your house will be vacant.

Some hotels include a continental breakfast that’s basically just sugary pastries, yogurt, and granola bars or you can pay a little extra to access the omelet bar, bacon, and more substantial treats. Shell out the extra bucks for it. That protein from the omelet bar will keep you from buying unhealthy snacks two hours later.

If your partner is in a bad mood, you can send him to the room, and you can keep having fun with the other couple. Your good time isn’t totally reliant on your partner’s moods.
