“Covid has made it worse. With the shelter in place order, already abusive situations in the home accelerate. The child will leave the home, and be with an abusive partner. So we’ve passed the torch onto put that child in an environment where they’re with this partner all the time…Domestic violence abuse calls have gone up 20 or 30 percent…so they say. But that’s not even all of them. Those are just the ones who can get to the phone,” says Hatwood.

Regardless of if you choose to allow it, encourage it, or prohibit it, dating will happen at some point.
