These 10 remarkable individuals are upholding John Lewis' tradition of making “good trouble” in the name of securing voting rights.

Black women and girls explored panels on empowerment, wellness, health, beauty, social justice, and more during the two-day event.

 The voting rights activist announced the sad news via Twitter on Dec. 19.

Former NAACP Legal Defense Fund President Sherrilyn Ifill presented the social justice warrior and political strategist with the award, and Ms. Brown is well-deserving of the prestigious accolade.

Georgia flipped blue due to a lot of grassroots work organized and led by a collective of people — especially Black women. Enter LaTosha Brown. She is one of those strategic geniuses who helped to take down the GOP.

While the nation is celebrating Stacey Abrams for the work she did in helping to secure the senate runoffs, we're hoping that this praise and admiration for Black women extends to those who aren't in public life.
