While mom and dad’s ploys to cover your broccoli in cheese or dip all of your celery in ranch may not have worked, perhaps you’ll like some of these more grownup recipes that could help you enjoy vegetables.

If you are already making an effort to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your diet, then you probably want to get the most nutrients out of that produce as you can.

Think of some of the items you’ve already come around to, like passionfruit and jicama—that stuff looks bizarre in its raw, untouched form. And yet, you love to put passion fruit in your fruit smoothies and dip jicama in your hummus and ranch dressing. So open your mind a bit more again.

Agua fresca is the new hot drink of the summer. Well, literally cold but figuratively hot. It’s low in sugar while remaining wonderfully tasty and refreshing. Try spinach and pineapple agua fresca for something pretty and tropical.

Go for lettuce where a tortilla, bun, or bread may have been. You can spread some mustard and mayo on giant leaves of iceberg lettuce, and wrap these around cheese and turkey for a healthy, low-carb, high-protein lunch.

As the colors outside shift, so do those in the grocery store produce section.
