Often in life, we learn the rewarding lesson that when we stop caring what others think we start to enjoy ourselves and find success much more. But that can be a particularly difficult philosophy to live by for those struggling with mental health or emotional matters.
If you've been feeling you're so unhinged that you may need to see a therapist, well, first off, we both know you'll just have to "see" her on Zoom or Skype, second off, go ahead, because therapists are great, but thirdly, know that even some of the strangest mood swings are perfectly normal now
You won’t get anywhere if you just want your therapist to agree that everyone sucks and you’re always right. That’s not a helpful mindset in life, but many patients just get mad if their therapists ask them to accept any blame. Bullying your therapist into saying everyone in your life sucks besides you won’t get you far.
You probably have some issues in your life that need working out. Are you in the right relationship? The right job? Do you need to address that tension with your friend? The business of life has a way of putting these things on the backburner, but it’s important to confront them, and they’ll come up when you do nothing for a day.
You know what you did with those dumb boys: if you had a bad day, you didn’t tell them. They made you feel like time with them was meant for fun and not real life. So you had your “relationship” and then you had the rest of your life, and you kept the two separate, so as not to burden your man (boy). But the man who wears his heart on his sleeve is okay with you letting him know what's going on your life.
