Darnella Frazier, the teenager who recorded the murder of George Floyd, claims her uncle's life was taken at the hands of Minnesota police

Darnella Frazier, the young Black woman who recorded the murder of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis Police Department, has recently been honored with the 2021 Pulitzer Prize in Special Citations and Awards.

In honor of the one-year anniversary of George Floyd's murder, which passed yesterday (May 25), 18-year-old Darnella Frazier -- the young woman whose cell phone recording of the incident brought it to the world's attention -- spoke out about how witnessing Floyd's last moments changed her life.

Derek Chauvin would not be found guilty on all charges if it were not for the footage shot and shared by a then-17-year-old girl, Darnella Frazier. We want her name remembered in this story.

As the Black community continues to reel in the aftermath of George Floyd's senseless murder, let's remember to keep our little sister Danella Frazier in our thoughts and prayers

"I am a minor! 17 years old, of course I’m not about to fight off a cop I’m SCARED," Darnella Frazier wrote on Facebook.
