Rosa Parks National Day of Courage is on Feb. 4, the civil rights activist's birthday. These 12 songs honor her inspiring life and valiance.

Ms. Hamer dedicated her life to educating her community on voting registration rights. She also worked tiredly to dismantle segregation across the south in the 60s with the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC).

Height also worked on issues like unemployment, illiteracy and voters' rights in the Black women’s community.

We thought we'd celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on this day of observance by highlighting the work of a few of the women he collaborated with during the civil rights movement.

The civil rights icon would have turned 107 on October 4, 2020.

Lewis Patrick also shared the instances of racism she experienced in her own life.
