A Black Twitter debate emerged about respectable clothing after a tweet showing a dentist office's anti-black clothing policy goes viral.
Regardless of the various reasons they're worn, Black women choosing to wear their hair bonnets in public has been an ongoing topic of debate. Whether for it or against it, all the dialogue makes one wonder when on a societal level we'll realize that policing Black womens' bodies doesn't benefit them or our community.
Songs like "Buss It Baby" and "Shawty" always come to mind when you think of Plies. More recently though, the rapper's also become known for the often outlandish and thought-provoking hot takes of his that he posts on social media. In the latest, Plies shared his two cents on ladies wearing their bonnets out in public.
In the 'About Us' section it explained the origin of the idea, "During her pregnancy with twin girls, Sarah was required to go on bed rest - allowing her time to grow the idea of silk sleepwear for hair. She was inspired by the delicate benefits of this luxurious fabric along with the rich history of hair wrapping."
