Have you ever heard of dating app burnout? As it turns out, being drained from dating app usage, feeling like the apps are a chore, and/or that you've become too attached to the mindless scrolling often associated with them are all experiences way more common than you'd think.

BLK, the dating app for Black singles, has gained more traction and user activity in the wake of the BLM protests of 2020 and the pandemic. Hearing this inspired me to give this app a try in order to not only come across like-minded folx, but also, hopefully, have an easier time dating on the app that's seemingly made with Black people in mind.

In the hopes of helping you better navigate all this in the new year, and to make 2021 one of your best dating years ever, we called on Jonathan Kirkland, Head of Marketing & Brand at BLK - one of the largest dating apps for Black people, to give us some dating insight.
