Controversy follows rapper Azealia Banks wherever she goes, but this time she says she wishes she’d done things differently. The Harlem, N.Y. native admits that she voted for President Donald Trump, but even she admits it’s a vote gone wrong.

As we prepare for the shenanigans of yet another Trump America, one where violence, ignorance, and downright hatred are exalted, here are eight books by Black women to help cope with the impending shenanigans that are sure to come.

President Donald Trump’s rambling and sometimes unfocused acceptance speech was dissected at great lengths with some pointing out the fallacies and falsehoods spewed from the pulpit.

Black women are realizing that the only way to survive a Trump America is to cultivate community and lean on one another like never before.

During the 2024 Presidential Election, the world witnessed firsthand how the same women we once joined forces with to fight the fight came out in waves to vote for the man convicted of 34 felonies, has been on the record for spewing messages of division and promoting violence (oh how soon folks forget about Jan. 6th).

Although racial tensions still seem to keep us divided, life for Black people in America is far more flexible than it has been in the past.

Trump has made it acceptable for people to show their true colors, waving their hate disguised as an American flag.

Black students at the University of Alabama have reported receiving racist text messages after Donald Trump’s presidential election win—an incident that seems to be turning into a nationwide trend.

"The outcome of this election is not what we wanted, not what we fought for, not what we voted for," Harris said.

In the early morning of MSNBC’s 2024 election coverage, Joy Reid pointed out the obvious, “white women voters did not” show up for Vice President Kamala Harris.

This isn’t a new tale, though. Black women know all too well how it feels to be overqualified and under appreciated, needed yet disrespected.

In a stunning turn of events, Donald Trump has been declared the winner of the 2024 presidential election over Vice President Kamala Harris.
