Newark Businesswoman Works to Help Others Embrace Multicultural Communities
(NJ Star-Ledger) Kimberlee Williams is the co-owner and marketing director of the Newark-based marketing firm Femworks. Nestled in Newark’s burgeoning Lincoln Park district, Williams’ small firm has a large vision: to not only change perceptions of urban and female communities, but of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities as well.
Her efforts include helping businesses establish relationships with the LGBT communities in urban areas like Newark, which she says can result in mutual financial gain and transform misconception into better awareness and, ultimately, opportunity. Williams co-founded Femworks in 2004 with longtime friend Tamara A. Fleming, a photographer and graphic designer.
