Can You Actually Use Office Scissors To Cut Your Hair?
It seems as if there’s this old adage of steering clear of office scissors when it comes to cutting your tresses. Instead, many of us who dare, grab a pair of shears or specified hair cutting scissors to chop of length, add layers or simply give our ‘do a new style.
But, celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin has just changed the way we all will look at office scissors. In a new video posted on Allure, Atkin gave Huda Kattan a haircut using nothing other than a pair of office scissors from Target. Using a steady hand, she first snipped away at Kattan’s dead ends for a clean start to the cut and reshaped the style of her hair. Then, she began to clip the hair in sections and work through it, cutting small amounts here and there.
While we and Atkin both recommend not to “try this at home,” she did say that if you’re in need of an impromptu trim and can’t get to the salon, the key is cutting in an upward motion, not horizontally.
