Keri Hilson Shares How She Keeps Her Signature Braided Style Looking Fresh

When it comes to Keri Hilson, we’ve got a lot of questions that need answers. From her forthcoming third album tentatively titled L.I.A.R. (Love Is A Religion) to how she keeps her signature braided style looking equal parts fly and fresh, there’s many deets that have yet to be revealed.

However, in a recent interview, Hilson dished many things, including her eye-catching waist length individual braids that’s undoubtedly become her go-to style. While we all know box braids are the gift that keeps on giving when it comes to hairstyles due to its low maintenance nature, sometimes it’s a struggle to keep those edges laid. So when prompted about how she goes about keeping her braided styles looking fresh and healthy, the singer shared some major keys we can all add to our regimen.

“I use Pre-Con Black Gel for my edges. Nothing I’ve tried works as good as old faithful and a toothbrush!,” she shared.  “I shampoo my hair weekly and spray It’s A 10 Leave-In Conditioner on my braids. Then I follow with Ann Carol Oil Spray by Dr. Kari Williams. I pretty much use that one because I love the smell. Peppermint Chamomile is my favorite scent but she makes great ones so I alternate. When my hair is clean, but I want a refresher throughout the week, I’ll use Oscar Blandi Invisible Dry Shampoo in between my weekly shampoos.”
