A lot of people might tell you that if the sex has slowed down, then the relationship is on the decline. But that’s simply not true. Let’s be honest: most of us don’t feel like having sex all of the time! The only time you’re in the mood every day is when you’re in a new relationship. At that point, you’re A) just making up for lost time and a long celibacy and B) needing to make that physical connection because the emotional one isn’t there yet. But once the relationship is established, you just don’t need to do it every day. Why? Because you have access to a few experiences that feel more intimate than sex. In fact, they feel better than it. Here are 20 things that are better than sex when you’re in love.

Coming home to surprise food
You come home from a meeting that ran far too long, and you’re starving. You cannot believe that, when you’re already exhausted and hungry, you need to cook and do dishes. But wait—what’s this? Your partner anticipated this and made your dinner!

Having someone to split a bottle of wine with
Half a bottle of wine is the perfect kind of drunk. It’s a little drunker than you meant to be but not so drunk that you’ll be hungover tomorrow. Now you can have it any time you want.

Having someone to split the fatty side with
The sides are the best things on the menu. That’s where you find your onion rings and jalapeno poppers. But one order is too much for one person, and your female friends will never go in on an order with you! This is where the boyfriend comes in.

Someone else who knows how crazy your family is
Finally, SOMEbody understands the chaos that is your family. When you’re really in love with a man, you can just give him a look, and he knows how your visit back home went.

Never being bored in the shower
It’s pretty nice to have someone who will sit on the toilet and chat with you when you wash your hair and shave your legs. It gets boring in there!

Toilet paper delivery
It seems too good to be true that you finally have a solution to that terrible problem of being stuck on the toilet with no paper. Just text your partner who is in the kitchen. That’s good room service.

Always having a brunch buddy
You wake up on Sunday, and you want waffles now. You don’t want to call a friend, get her voice mail, wait for her to call you back, wait for her to get dressed and do her makeup and then go to brunch. Now, you don’t have to go through any of that.

Having a shaving schedule
You used to have to shave every day, because you just didn’t know when you’d meet somebody. Now, you know that your partner won’t be home until after you’re asleep Thursday, so no need to shave then. But you should shave Wednesday because you both have the afternoon off work.

Having a cute underwear schedule
See shaving schedule, but for underwear. And it is so nice to do less laundry. You know you just buy a pack of ugly underwear at the pharmacy when you’re out of clean panties.

PMS cuddles
Women really need a hug when we’re on our period. We have hormones screaming at us to get some unconditional affection. Your boyfriend is required to give it.

Getting drunk at home
You do not need to go to a bar to maybe meet a man worth sleeping with and then deal with paying for cocktails, paying for cabs, and sleeping poorly in somebody else’s bed. Now you can get a cheap drunk at home, crawl into your own bed, and be next to somebody you feel good about being next to.

Not giving a Sh-t about social media
You just care less about it when you’re in love. You don’t care as much what other people are up to. You didn’t need a partner to validate you, but…it’s hard to deny that he gives you a confidence boost, so you just don’t care what new car Mary from high school has.

Having a less miserable time at the airport
You have someone to lean against when you’re standing in line for security, somebody who will let you nap on his lap during a layover, and somebody to talk to on the plane.

Hangover nurturing
You no longer have to struggle through the hangover blues, combined with the unsufferable loneliness and cheese cravings that come with them, by yourself. Somebody will go to Taco Bell for you.

Someone else doing the laundry
You never filled up the machine on your own. Now you have somebody else who needs to throw a load in with yours. You know what that means? That person will do the laundry half of the time.

Getting credit for your outfits
Finally, somebody can appreciate the outfits you put together every day! In fact, he kind of has to.

Someone else to walk the dog
You love your little pup, but sometimes you’ve had the longest day, sat in the worst traffic, and still need to cook, and you can’t fathom walking around the block for 20 minutes on top of that.

Not worrying about condoms
Once you’ve both been tested and are in the clear, you can stop spending hundreds of dollars a year on condoms, provided things are monogamous and you’re on birth control if you’re not interested in a baby anytime soon.

Getting to sit in silence
You’ve spoken enough. You’re tired. You’ve told your life story to countless first dates. You’ve proven your wit. You’re done! Your boyfriend knows what you’re about so now, if you want, you can just enjoy some silence.

Getting to be mediocre at sex
The days of proving yourself are over! Now you have love to replace the need for toys and tricks. You can still use toys and tricks, but you don’t feel like you have to.
