Black Girl Magic: 11-Year-Old Marley Dias Shares How She Launched #1000BlackGirlBooks Campaign
Earlier this year, 11-year-old Marley Dias collected over 1,000 books where black girls are featured as the protagonist. After being frustrated with reading books in her classroom about white boys and their dogs, she started a social campaign bringing awareness to the inequality problem we currently have in our literature and received national coverage for her efforts. In this episode of Be The Boss Kids Edition, Marley shares her journey and she also encourages other young girls to follow their dreams and make a difference no matter how old they are.
Check out our previous Be The Boss Kids Edition episode where we highlight 10-year-old fashion designer, Egypt “Ify” Ufele.
