Have you ever wondered what it feels like to do something that you absolutely love for a living? Do you ever imagine how your life would be if you were getting paid to do something that you would happily do for free? If you answered yes to either one of these questions then it’s time for you to find a way to start living your calling, aka, getting out your dreams. Your calling is your purpose and your passion alive and thriving. It’s what fuels your fire and rocks your boat. While your career may be a good one and helpful in paying those bills of yours, the real secret to happiness is answering your calling when it phones. Many people either ignore their purpose out of fear of change and failure, monetary worries or they just never tap into it. In order to identify what your true calling is you must pay attention and be in tuned to what comes to you naturally or what always seems to find its way to you. Sometimes the universe conspires with us to answer our calling by placing people, places or things in our paths so we can clearly see what we were put on this earth to accomplish.

Ever since we were children, the question has been, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Innocently, we probably answered with what our parents were or wanted us to be, what we saw on television, or what we thought of as cool jobs like a doctor, lawyer, ballerina, veterinarian, etc. Yet while that infamous question is great to get children’s minds thinking about the future, it shouldn’t just be asked to those 12 and under. We should never stop thinking about what we want to do, especially since we are always evolving and changing as people. Our callings never stop trying to contact us; it’s us who never answer the “call.”
If you know what your calling is and you are currently not living it, then I’m sure you’re probably asking how can I make my calling my career? Easier said than done, right? Our careers are usually a sum of our skills and settings. When we choose how to make our living, it can sometimes have an ounce of what our calling is without us even knowing it because its purpose is to prepare us and bring us closer to our dreams. It’s said that the difference between a job and a career is that with a job you just ‘work’ but with a career it’s ‘work’ you want to do. So in order to turn your calling into your career, leave fear at the door and kick down any barriers (real or imaginary) that you may see or believe to be present; Whether that means making a location change. letting certain people go, or taking some classes–changes and efforts need to be made. Living your love is possible, it’s up to you though…
Are you living your purpose and passion?
