A signature look is coming harder and harder to come by in the world of entertainment.  More and more celebrities are regularly experimenting with a variety of looks to always keep their fans guessing and anticipating whether their next look will be fierce or a flop.  And thanks to the wonderful world of hair extensions, it’s becoming easier and easier to rock a 14” Bohemian curly afro on Friday and switch up to a silky straight bob with blunt bangs on Monday.  The following ladies have rocked both short and long locks on one occasion or another.  What length do you think looks better on these ladies?

Shorter

1.  Monica

When Monica first stepped on the scene as Miss Thang at the tender age of 15, her pixie cut was a perfect match for her maturity.  For the most part Monica’s remained true to her short cut, only switching up the shades, but she’s been known to rock a bit of length. Monica has a gorgeous face so I prefer to see her in shorter styles.  What do you think?

2. Keyshia Cole

Keyshia Cole’s hairstylist deserves every penny she earns, because she works hard switching up Keyshia’s style.  Keyshia always keeps her fans on their toes running to their stylist with some of her trendsetting looks, but do you think her lengthier looks are as flattering as her layered cuts?

3.  Kelly Rowland

We featured Kelly’s hairstyle evolution in a past post and I am still convinced that this girl can get away with any length.  What I love most is that Kelly is never flashy or forced with her looks, and she proves that great styling techniques can make “boring” brunette absolutely beautiful.

4.  Keri HilsonKeri’s winning formula for pretty girl rock is blonde + sassy bob= bombshell.  Don’t hate her ‘cause she’s beautiful.  Keri has never really let her locks fall past her shoulders but she has gone from super short to shoulder length.  Which look do you think works best?

5.  Jada Pinkett

Before Willow Smith was whipping her hair back and forth, her mom had some Hot mane moves of her own.  I still remember Jada as the mouthy sidekick “Peaches” rocking a perky pixie cut in A Low
Down Dirty Shame
, but Jada has been known to invest in some lengthier layers.  Which look do you think fits her tiny frame best?

6.  Halle Berry

Halle’s hot and the truth is she doesn’t need a much help from a whole lot of hair to be smoking.  On occasion, however for both movie roles and just her personal style she’s traded in her classic cut for something that brushes past her bra strap.  Does the extra hair hurt or help Halle?

7.  Nia Long

We all know there’s no shame in Nia’s weave game after she schooled men on how to treat women’s tender tresses in the bedroom on Chris Rock’s Good Hair.  Most men would probably run to her bedroom even if she was bald-headed.  Nia’s natural beauty always manages to shine through her tendrils: tracks or not.

8.  Meagan Good

Meagan Good has always been stunning with longer hair that she usually chose to wear wavy or straight. For her role on BET’s The Game as the Hot, sneaky wife of the owner of the San Diego Sabers who carries on a sensual affair with character Malik Wright, she let go of the length for a short style with blonde highlights.  The cut definitely took her from Hot to stunning.

9.  Rihanna

When it comes to bringing the drama via a style transformation, it’s safe to say Rihanna wrote the book.  She stepped on the scene as an island beauty with long windswept waves, but soon the good girl went bad with an asymmetrical bob so Hot it made Salt ‘N Pepa look like saints. She might be bad, but she’s perfectly good at it.

10.   Solange Knowles

Unlike big sis Beyonce’, Solange isn’t afraid to experiment with creativity both in her fashion and beauty
choices.  We literally watched her grow from a teen in micro-braids to a grown woman who wasn’t afraid to chop off her hair and step out of her sister’s shadow.  I must say Solange pulls off the hippy-bohemian look quite well.

11.   Toni Braxton

Toni’s classic short cut perfectly complements her high cheekbones, so I’m not a big fan of some of her longer wigs and weaves, but she’s not afraid to try something different. I actually was surprisingly smitten with the soft curls she rocked in her video for “I Don’t Want To” a single off of her Secrets album.

 12.  Mary J. Blige

We can always count on Mary J. to bring a bit of urban swag to the red carpet. You can also count on Mary J. to bring a style that’s bold, blonde and bad-A$$ and to keep it real whether she has weave in or decides to go natural.
