If you’ve ever cried over a man, perhaps your moms came alongside you and offered some words of encouragement. Something to the tune of “he’ll be back.” While you might have thought it was the end of the world and you would never see your boo boo again, you eventually realized that your mom knew what time it was. He’s Bored
This might not mean that he doesn’t have someone else in this picture. He might just be tired of her, she might be getting on his nerves and he’s just looking to add a little thrill to his life. He Genuinely Misses You
We try not to male bash… too much over here. So when a man comes back around, it doesn’t necessarily mean he’s back to use and abuse you. It could honestly mean he’s recognized the error in his ways and he’s ready to do right by you. There’s nothing wrong with giving him a chance to prove himself; but keep your eyes open while he’s working his way back into your heart.
There’s Nothing Else Going on Right Now
And by nothing— I mean no one. If and when he finds himself in a nookie rut, or shoot even an estrogen deficiency, don’t be surprised if your phone starts ringing. You might be his back-up boo. His booty call if you will. But don’t become disillusioned into thinking that it’s all about you at this point. It just means that you’re convenient. Sorry to break it to you.
He Knows You’ll Let Him Back In
You say all the time that you’re done with him but let a few months pass and he calls with his “baby, baby please” lines and your heart melts. Somehow you’ve convinced yourself that this time will be different. He’s changed. And maybe for the first couple of months he has changed. But once you’ve completely let your guard down, he returns to his old ways and you’re back at square one.
You’re Done With Him
This one can’t be proven scientifically but I’m quite certain that while we have what’s known as women’s intuition, men have something like a “moved on radar”. Whenever you find yourself in a good place, whether you’re in a new relationship or not, you emit what I’ll call contentment pheromones into the air. And we all know dogs have a great sense of smell…Just kidding! Baby boy might not have been a dog but he most certainly sensed that you were happy and confident and mentally sound and that’s the exact moment he decides to reach out.
