Don’t you just love a gentleman? You know the kind that really knows how to treat a woman. Now, old-fashioned chivalry is a beautiful thing. It’s wonderful when a brotha’ opens doors for you or pulls out your chair. However, these days men are finding new ways to show their deference to a lady. How is old-school chivalry becoming new? Check out the ways a modern knight in shining armor shows his appreciation.

True Love’s Text

Back in the day, fellas wrote love letters with paper and pen. These days, a modern chivalrous man will let his fingers do the talking to show both his concern and his admiration. If he knows his girl is working late or out on the town without him, he’ll text to make sure that she’s home safe and sound. Texting is also an unobtrusive, simple way that a modern gent can let his lady know that he’s thinking about her. He’ll send a romantic message just to make his maiden smile.

Computer Love

A modern gentleman will note  his lady’s technological needs. He will make sure that her computer is maintained and running smoothly. If he’s got software skills, he’ll make sure she’s up-to-date and has everything she needs. Modern ladies don’t need a man to keep our technology tight. However, is there anything sexier than discovering that your dude has defragged your desktop and downloaded you some sick software without being asked? Now that’s some modern day chivalry.

Social Media Chivalry

Folks can get out of pocket on Facebook and Twitter. Even if his profile states clearly that he’s in a relationship, there is ALWAYS a girl that will flirt shamelessly with your TAKEN man on his wall.  A chivalrous guy will not stand for that kind of disrespect directed at his woman. He will check homegirl with the quickness and “un-friend” her if necessary.

Tivo Thoughtfulness

Modern day gallantry means being generous with the DVR. Yes, he would love to tape all 4 football games, “Sportcenter” and “60 Minutes.” However, a true gentleman leaves room so that his lady can record “True Blood” and “Desperate Housewives.” He may even forgo the game altogether, snuggle up with his girl and watch some vampire romance. Now that’s love.

What are some other ways that a modern man can show off his chivalrous side?
