With dates as available as anything you’d like to buy on Amazon Prime or watch on Netflix, it’s no surprise that men are double booking. Men are shopping around, price comparing and negotiating dates as if they’re negotiating for a new car. Unfortunately, some men are so overwhelmed by all of the untapped prospects in their dating app that they cannot stick to just one date on one night. If you don’t think that this is happening to you, you might think again when you recognize some of these signs that you’re being double booked.

There’s a lag in the planning

When you’re trying to make a plan for the first date, he will be very enthusiastic, and then disappear. You’ll get a message that says, “I love that idea!” and then a, “Actually, um, can I get back to you?” He’s collaborating with his second booking.

He’s intent on a place

He really wants to take you to this one particular restaurant. If you say you don’t like that type of food, he throws out three other suggestions…all in the same neighborhood. He can’t venture too far from his second booking.

Or the late night happy hour

Or he wants to have dinner at 11 pm. When you say that’s too late for you and you’d rather do another night he says, “Can’t you have a snack to hold you over?” He’s trying to cram in as many dates as possible in one night! You ruin his plan by rescheduling.

His questions are specific and weird

He asks you questions that belong on a survey, like, “Do you care if I only cut my hair twice a year?” And when you answer, you see him calculating something in his head. He’s taking notes. He’s going to compare your answers to his second booking’s.

He’s checking his phone constantly

He might be so blatant as to keep checking his phone. Plenty of guys do that—fine. But this guy will feel the need to tell you every time he picks up his phone what he is doing. And it makes no sense. Is he using his blood pressure app?

He wants to order right away

Before you’ve even had the chance to ask for a glass of water he says, “I think we’re ready to order. Are you ready? Here, I’ll order, and you can figure out what you want while I do that.” He needs to rush to his second booking.
