How many of you can say that you have a great ex?
Most of the time when we speak of an ex, it’s usually in a not so positive light. From our facial expressions to our overall mood shift, the mentioning of their name can change our attitude from good to bad instantly. But sometimes this average EX-pectation is not the case. It’s possible that an ex can be the best you’ve ever had.
Despite the relationship being over, some ex-lover’s leave you with great memories to cherish. Their purpose may not have been to be with you forever but to share with you an experience you will never forget. One may have taught you valuable lessons in love and life, while another may have been your very best friend. Too often we beat ourselves up over the bad relationships when we should be taking stock of some of the good ones.
You may not realize you had a great ex until years after the relationship is over or after a few ones have gone bad. Relationships are not just for love they are for lessons too, so even if you fall short on some and don’t have success every time there will definitely be a lesson there for you to learn – and exes are our best teachers. Just because it doesn’t work out doesn’t mean that the relationship was a waste. There is always a purpose for someone to participate in our lives, but it’s our job to figure out what that purpose is. A failed relationship should not be a feared one. It should be used as an opportunity for growth and maturity and to appreciate everything it may have taught us.
More so, all ex’s shouldn’t be put in one basket. Like everything else in life, some will be good, some will be bad and some will be great. Let’s recognize the positive ones in our lives and give credit where its’ due, because that ex just may be the best you’ve ever had…
