Do men accuse you of acting like a princess? Have you had guys dump you because your standards are “unreasonable?” Are you beginning to wonder if maybe they’re right? Here are some key traits of women who have a princess complex.

If he didn’t get reservations

You scoff, offended that he would put you in a position to wait for a table. Even if he says the place is great and they don’t take reservations but he wanted you to experience it, you’re still annoyed.

If he doesn’t know much about the restaurant

When you ask a dozen questions about the menu and he says, “I actually don’t know much about this place—a friend recommended it,” you’re shocked he would take you somewhere he hadn’t tested himself.

If he shows up really early

You’re annoyed that he is interfering with your getting ready time. You don’t realize he was trying to be polite, and make sure he was on time.

He didn’t check your dietary restrictions

He takes you to a steak house. You’re a vegetarian. He thinks you should have mentioned that on your own. You think it was his job to ask.

When he tells you, “Order anything you want”

You say, “Well yeah…I would hope so.” He was just trying to be sweet!

If there’s a lull in conversation

You make no effort to fill it. You stare at him and wait for him to find something interesting to say. You consider it his responsibility to entertain you.

When the kitchen gets your order wrong

You expect your date to complain for you. Not only that, you expect him to demand you get a free drink or something like that.

And you have to wait for a new plate

If you have to wait a long time for the kitchen to remake your order, you’re offended if your date starts eating. Even if he is starving and his food is getting cold.

If he takes too long to compliment you

If he doesn’t tell you immediately when he sees you how gorgeous you look, you are sour and short with him. When he finally does say something about it, you say, “I was wondering when you’d say something.”

If his car is dirty

If he has to move things off of his passenger seat for you to sit down, you get annoyed. You make some comment like, “You knew you were picking me up.”

When he doesn’t tell you the dresscode

You sort of test men to see if they’ll let you know the dress code ahead of time. If they don’t tell you, you get way overdressed just to make them feel bad that the restaurant doesn’t live up to your outfit.

When he takes a call

He explains it’s an emergency, but there is no explanation that will make you not pissed off.

He doesn’t want to valet

There is street parking that is totally free just a block from the restaurant. But you’re fuming that he wouldn’t valet.

Something goes wrong with his car

His car won’t start or breaks down. Instead of feeling sorry for him, you get angry that he didn’t make sure his car was in tip-top shape before your date.
