If you follow Mommynoire on Instagram, you might have seen that I went to Mount Airy Lodge Casino Resort last week for a few days in the sun (and a little tropical rain as well).

When you hear casino you may not automatically think kid-friendly, but it’s a great place to go as a family. Clean, safe, pretty and just happier than any casino/resort I’ve been to, Mount Airy Lodge was a delight. The resort on a whole was very relaxed and the staff was super friendly and accommodating, just what you want when escaping the hustle and bustle of New York City.

Set against the backdrop of Pennsylvania’s picturesque Pocono Mountains, adults will want to enjoy the ultimate gaming experience with over 1,800 slot machines and 80 table games!

Just above the casino–it was so convenient to have everything in one location–luxury hotel rooms and suites serve every need while guests discover a variety of signature restaurant options, including the recently opened Guy Fieri’s Mt. Pocono Kitchen and Bistecca by Il Mulino. This all-encompassing, full service resort destination for outdoor enthusiasts and gaming enthusiasts alike features an award- winning, lakefront 18-hole golf course; a 16,000 square foot spa, salon and exercise facility; a $5 million, luxury, indoor/outdoor pool and entertainment complex – aptly called Get Wet; an outdoor summer stage that hosts summer concert series; headline entertainment at Gypsies Nightclub and bar; banquet and conference center.

Pro parent tip: If you’re heading there with kids, weekdays are your best bet. Check out the resort calendar–because Sunday’s are the Get Wet parties during the summer–so you might want to book your stay when there are less adult activities happening on the grounds. Also, one staffer who escorted us to our restaurant reservation (my daughter felt like a VIP! house rules: when you visit with a minor, you must be escorted by Mount Airy security while in the casino area) told me that a holiday weekend can mean lines out the door, just to enter the casino!

Going without kids? Dive in and enjoy the casino, golfing, concerts and nightclub!

Being there for a few days, it was easy to see how, for the fourth consecutive year, Mount Airy Casino Resort has been awarded the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Rating. My party was so impressed by the destination which offered picturesque settings, lavish ambiance, exceptional fine dining, luxury accommodations, outdoor activities and unrivalled amenities. We’ll definitely be back!

Mount Airy Casino Resort, located in Mount Pocono, Pa., is less than 90 minutes from Philadelphia, New York City and northern New Jersey.

The hotel lobby is lush. Excuse the blurry picture, I was hurrying to check in!

The room was spacious, spotless and well-decorated. We were really impressed!

What’s a vacation without a glass of wine? We had a delicious dinner at Lucky 8.

Seafood and vegetables in a succulent garlic sauce. We shared plates because everything was too good not to try.

Clams with black bean sauce was a hit!

Had to start the next day off right with breakfast. Room service is a must.

Makeup free and carefree! I was ready for my spa time.

A robe selfie is also a must. I hadn’t been to a spa in a year!

So I broke a rule and didn’t turn off my phone until I got in the massage room.

The attention to detail and beauty was awesome.

It’s hard to show you how expansive this space is, but there were bathrooms, showers, changing rooms, stations to do your hair, places to just sit and relax…I almost got lost!

Let’s not forget the sauna!

This was my beautiful view (on the ceiling) when I opened my eyes after my massage…it’s the little things.

After the spa, it was pool time. It was a Wednesday at 9:00 a.m., so it was pretty empty. We loved that! The pool is indoor and outdoor and under five feet., perfectly manageable for my daughter. Also, the water temperature was perfect and warm, indoors and outdoors.

What’s a casino visit without some time at the slots? I sent the little one off with some frozen yogurt from Red Mango (located on the property) and had some fun on the casino floor. No big bucks, but had a blast.

Back to Lucky 8 for dinner, but this time is was all about sushi. So fresh and delicious!

We were set to check out but couldn’t resist another dip in the pool.

The cabanas at the pool are for rent. They’re as little as $50 and go up to $200 for the largest size on the weekend. What a bargain if you’re traveling with a group and want a little privacy. Mount Airy Lodge Casino Resort is definitely a place I’ll visit again soon and recommend to anyone. Thank you Mount Airy for the stay and great time!
