On January 2nd, I walked into my local gym at 8 am and it was packed. By yesterday evening, it looked the same way it did two weeks prior to NYE. I say this to say that many have already broken the resolutions they mentally prepared for just months ago. For those who haven’t yet done so, I salute you. To those who already have given up on their resolutions, I say the year is just entering it’s second quarter and it’s no time like the present to get back at it! With that said, this week’s Throwback Thursday is dedicated to films in which there was a theme of moving forward… something we can all aspire to as spring ushers in a new season.

Throwback Thursday: 10 Inspiring Movies On Moving Forward

The Best Man

The past will control your present and set the trajectory for your future if you don’t address it. Life is too short to spend so much time angry and upset. More often than not, we are lucky when someone finds it in their hearts to forgive us in a timely fashion.

Forgive immediately. It takes time to forget, but time and other experiences can erase the hurt.

The Pursuit of Happiness

When one can clearly define what their motivation is, even on the hardest of days your foundation will be unwavering. For example, the most common resolution for the new year is to lose weight. Why? Just to look good? To be more fit? To live longer?

What and why? Just saying “to lose weight” is a goal that lacks the motivation.

Hustle and Flow

You are the captain of your own fate. If you look at it, DJay almost punked out of giving Skinny Black his tape. The movie could have ended there. He realized he wasn’t being himself and the results were a clear indicator. He sat back, paused, and did what he did best and that changed everything.
