90’s singer Shanice, 41 and One on One actor Flex Alexander, 44 are starting a new chapter in their life, the couple will star in a new reality show on the OWN network. It’s Shanice’s dream come true while Flex was a little reticent about revealing his family issues on TV. The pair has hit hard times and the show centers around their family not having much money in recent times to pay their bills.
They married in 2000 after meeting in their apartment building. They have two children Shekinah Alexander-Knox (2001) and son Elijah Alexander-Knox (2004).
Flex spoke on the show’s premise:
It is basically looking into what we’ve gone through financially. Not by craziness. We didn’t do anything extravagant. Just the perils of making money in the business and then it stops [but the bills keep coming].[…]The jobs slowed down, the economy hit, and it was just an up and down time.
My wife is very frugal. I think for me it was a lesson learned because I was never raised or taught how to balance, juggle, how to really take care of it.[…]I’m learning from her.
