Say what you want about nepotism, but there are many young men and women with famous or well-to-do parents, who can’t convert that “startup” resource of a famous family member into a functioning enterprise that they own themselves. Angie and Vanessa have managed to yes, land that good ol’ show, Daddy’s Girls, but also run a successful shoe business, Pastry.
Siblings: Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen
You may know them from the hit sitcom Full House which thrived in the late eighties and early nineties. Born in 1986, Mary Kate and Ashley have since aligned with their lawyer/manager to form a company called Dualstar. They have made 13 movies, released 169 books, along with 5 TV shows.
Siblings: Miko & Titi Branch
Sisters Titi and Miko Branch opened Miss Jessie’s Salon, formerly known as Curve Salon, in 1997 in a Brooklyn brownstone. The salon soon became the go-to place for those with kinky, curly, wavy hair offering unique and workable solutions. Their Miss Jessie’s line of products is now available at Target stores.
Siblings: The Wayans Family
There’s no room to describe the achievements of the Wayans–a family of 10 siblings, who dominated the entertainment industry so much that in 2006, Entertainment Weekly described them as the most powerful family in Hollywood. When you consider their work both in and out of their production company, Wayans Bros. Entertainment, you won’t find it surprising that they’ve each grossed hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue.
