11 Favorite Easter Crafts From Pinterest

Dyed doilies Pinned by allfreekidscrafts.com
These festive doilies can be used for all kinds of things, from wrapping gifts to acting as coasters.

Supplies:

  • A bowl or baking dish (I used a Pyrex baking dish)
  • White doilies
  • Food coloring
  • Paper towels
  • Rubber gloves

Directions:
1. Fill the baking pan or bowl with only enough water to cover the doilies – this is key, because you need the food coloring to be very concentrated. You will need to use quite a lot of food coloring. My first two or three attempts were failures (I had too much water in my dish and not enough food coloring). After I dumped out most of the water, and really poured in a lot of dye, it worked nicely.
2. Submerge the doily in the dish/bowl for a few seconds (10 or 15 seconds is sufficient). I started to get bolder toward the end of this craft and I left them in for longer, just to see.
3. Gently take them out of the dish and lay them on a paper towel to dry. They are very fragile, so use caution when you take them out of the pan.
4. Blot them dry right away with another paper towel very gently. Set aside to dry. (I laid mine out on a table, underneath a ceiling fan, and they dried very quickly).

3. Use the silver pen or chalk to draw out a little lamb face and a hoof at the end of each of the four fingers.
4. Glue cotton balls or pompoms all over the palm part of the handprint. You can also use them for the hoofs if you’d like.

Peeps Sunflower Pinned by One Artsy Mama
You can’t eat this craft when it’s done but it’ll be just as sweet sitting on your kitchen table.

Supplies:

  • 8-inch green flower foam
  • Newspaper
  • Serrated kitchen knife
  • 4 1/2″ by 5″ mini flower pot
  • Green paint
  • 1/2″ paint brush
  • Hot glue gun
  • 6-inch embroidery hoop
  • 3 packages of Peeps

Directions
1. Place the foam on a newspaper-covered surface and cut out a 3″ x 4″ x 3″ rectangular piece using the kitchen knife. Place the piece widthwise into the flowerpot so it fits snugly and the foam isn’t visible over the top edge.
2. On the same surface, paint the dowel green. Let dry. Apply a generous amount of hot glue to the top of the dowel and secure it to the screw at the opening of the embroidery hoop. Let dry.
Remove Peeps from the packaging but do not separate. Apply a thick line of hot glue to 1/3 of the front side of the embroidery ring. Gently press one group of five Peeps onto the glue with beaks facing the center of the circle, slightly bending them to cover the ring. Let dry. Repeat with the other two groups.
3. Stick the bottom part of the dowel into the center of the foam so that the stem stands upright. Cover the top of the pot with green Easter grass. If desired, lightly mist the Peeps flower with a craft sealer to preserve it.

Ombre EasterEggs Pinned by allfreekidscrafts.com
Last year’s biggest fashion trend makes its way to your kid’s Easter basket.

Supplies:

  • Hard Boiled Eggs
  • Food Coloring
  • Vinegar
  • Hot Water
  • Cups
  • Egg Holder (or small ladle)

Directions
1. Lay out 4 cups for dipping the eggs.
2. Add 1 teaspoon of white vinegar to each cup.
3. Add 3/4 cup of hot water to each cup.
4. Then, vary the amount of food coloring you add to each cup, increasing it from the first to the last. I chose to use 10 drops, 1/8 tsp, 1/4 tsp, and 1/2 tsp.
5. Then starting with the first cup with the least amount of coloring and dip the egg all the way in.
6. With the second cup, only dip the egg 3/4 of the way in, the third cup 1/2 of the way in, and the last one only 1/4 of the way end so only the bottom of the egg is in the darkest colored water.
You may have to play with how long you dip the egg in each cup to determine how dark you want the result.

Bunny Ears Headband Pinned by Chelsey Hawkins
Kids will be “hoppy” to have these fun ears. Even if your kid (or you) have minimal sewing skills, you can still pull these together really quickly.

Supplies:
Child-size headband
11⁄2 yards of 1⁄2-inch-wide double- fold bias tape.

Directions
1. Cut an 181⁄2- inch-long piece of bias tape. Hem the cut ends under 1⁄2 inch on each side, then stitch together the long side to form a casing. Fold the casing in half so that the ends touch and use a straight pin to mark the fold’s center.
2. Feed an extra-thick, 12-inch-long pipe cleaner through one end of the casing, stopping at the pin. Feed a second pipe cleaner through the casing’s other end until it, tooeets the pin; remove pin. Bring the casing’s open ends toward each other and twist the exposed pipe cleaners together to form a rabbit ear shape. Repeat steps one and two to make a second ear.
3. Cut a piece of bias tape the length of the headband, plus one extra inch. Wrap the tape over the headband, then use pins to mark the two spots where you want to attach the ears (use the photo at left for guidance).
4. Remove the tape from the headband and stitch the long side together, from the pins out to both ends of the tape; stitch these ends closed, and remove pins. Twist the ears’ pipe-cleaner ends around the headband in the desired spots, then slide each end of the headband into the casing. Use a needle and thread to slip-stitch the tape around and between the ears closed.
