Apparently at Calvin Klein, size 10 is “plus size.” But too-thin-for-plus models aren’t the only struggles plus size women go through. From shorts that ride up to buttons that never close, these are the struggles that only plus size women can understand.

Finding Something Fashionable

Plus-size fashion is cool if you’re looking for staples. But if the style is fresh off the runway, you’ll have a better chance of finding it in the petite section. Which is why plus size women make better-than-average personal stylists.

Fashion Models

Calvin Klein has made it a point to say that they never claimed Myla Delbesio is officially “plus size” (they call their line that caters to the needs of “different women” Perfectly Fit).

Well no matter what you call her, plus size women still can’t tell what her outfit will look like on if she doesn’t have the hips, bust, belly or thighs that are supposed to fill out her plus size garment.

Buttons

Button gaps are a staple of plus-size fashion. Those little fasteners just aren’t great at handling curves.

Sure you can buy it larger and tailor it down to fit, but who’s going to invest that extra cash for something they snagged off the sale rack?

Everything About Shorts

They just don’t cut them for plus size bodies. They get friction damage around the in seam, constantly ride up (showing off the friction damage on your thighs), bunch in strange places and almost always require a long t-shirt to help you cover up.
