That saying “Your attitude determines your altitude” is more than just a corny cliche. It’s a principle of the universe. You attract what you project. And if your whole life is about spreading negativity, chaos and confusion, then you’ll attract just that. In case you don’t believe this fundamental truth, you need look no further than the celebrities on this list who’ve managed to prove the principle time and time again.

K Michelle

Up until the past year or so, I’d say I rooted for K Michelle. I thought she was talented and I wanted her to really go far. And of course I thought her word play was sick and she was quite hilarious. Clearly, being around all the volatile personalities on “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” were causing her to wyle out so much. It wasn’t until she left the show and kept acting a fool, beefing with everyone under the sun including Lil Kim, Tamar Braxton and Elle Varner (of all people), that I realized she was the problem. If K. Michelle takes it down a thousand notches, she’d be taken more seriously in the industry.

Keyshia Cole

Keyshia Cole learned quick, fast and in a hurry what talking sideways about somebody will get you. She came for Michelle Williams and Twitter practically exploded with people defending Michelle and clowning the hell out of Keyshia Cole. I’ll say she didn’t deserve all that she received. People went IN! But that’s how karma works, often times it comes back stronger than you expected. That Super Bowl was like two years ago, so I thought she’d learned her lesson. But lo and behold news of her fighting some chick over Bird Man (?) recently popped up. Keyshia’s just not gonna be able to win like this.

Lolo Jones

When Lolo Jones lost “Dancing With The Stars” she seemed to be confused about why she just can’t seem to win anything. She even wrote a letter about it, expressing her frustration and sheer embarrassment. What Lolo Jones fails to release is that karma will make it hard for her to win “Dancing With The Stars” or an Olympic Medal if she continues straight bullying people on the internet. She’s constantly coming after people online, most notably Rachel Jeantel during the Trayvon Martin trial. Nothing about that is cool and as the saying goes, “God don’t like ugly.”

Lil Kim

I like Lil Kim and I really think she still has something to offer the Hip Hop world if she would stop.talking.about.Nicki.Minaj. Every other month she’s coming out with some new theory about how Nickis stolen her identity, including a song called “Identity Theft” and every month the theories get more and more bananas. Like during her recent Breakfast Club interview where she said Nicki Minaj was coming for her in the “Flawless Remix.” Kim claims that when Nicki Minaj said, “It’s the Queen of Rap slaying with Queen Bey,” she was jabbing. And no, she didn’t mean the Queen of Rap part. She thought Nicki saying Queen B was a diss.

Columbus Short

Don’t think this list is just about some salty women. There are some dudes out here who’ve got the game twisted as well. While I think that Columbus’ shenanigans can sometimes be funny–i.e. his hosting a party during the season 4 premiere of “Scandal.” The others, like getting into bar fights and allegedly abusing his wife are just so vile. I think Columbus’ issue is that he doesn’t think he has one. If he could admit that he needs some assistance or at the very least, some time away from the public eye, then he’d see some things start to open up for him. Cuz he is pretty talented.

Teairra Mari

When you look at the way Teairra Mari first came on the scene, with Jay Z in the video of her first single, “Make Her Feel Good,” it’s shocking to see that her career didn’t take off.  She’s cute, she can hold a tune and she could do a two step. But watching this season of “Love and Hip Hop Hollywood,” all became clear. Teairra is straight up violent and a bit of an instigator, really. She interprets everything as a jab and then out of the blue, she’s ready to throw down. I really hope she didn’t think her portrayal on VH1 was going to open any new doors. Because the way things are looking right now, record companies are throwing Teairra Mari’s folder in the “hard to work with” pile.

Ray J

And while we’re on the subject, we can’t just talk about half of the equation. Ray J is at least part of the reason why a heartbroken Teairra is acting her brokenness out all over the place. Sure, he had every right to leave what he considered to be a tumultuous relationship, where homegirl couldn’t keep her hands to herself. But let’s not pretend that Ray J doesn’t like to stir the pot. The dude literally walked into her face and threw her belongings on the ground, knowing that she’s quick to fly off the handle.

But aside from Teairra, Ray J’s penchant for keeping up mess, whether he’s detailing his past sexcapades in a song or video (it’s not just Kim) or getting arrested for alleged sexual battery, Ray J’s life is full of madness and mayhem. And the sad thing is, I think the dude is actually talented and occasionally charismatic. (I rewatched “Moesha” and his character Dorian was well played.  I dug his first cd and he was so sweet on David Tutera.) But he loves mess: to start it, find it or throw himself into the midst of it. He seems to thrive off of the attention, positive or negative. If he would learn to chill and avoid the foolishness, he could do a whole lot more.

Janet Hubert

You know what they say about common denominators. If you always seem to have a problem with people around you, maybe you, in fact, are the problem. Janet Hubert said, time and time again, that Will Smith was the one who got her kicked off of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” but other cast members, including Alfonso Ribiero, our sweet and lovable Carlton, stepped forward and said no, Hubert was the one with the problem. And judging by her desire to talk about it twenty years later, coming for Wendy Williams and even some MN staffers, it’s clear why we haven’t seen her since the show.

Jason Derulo

I’m disappointed in Jason Derulo. Before this year, I couldn’t name a single one of his songs. And now that I know his work, and actually enjoyed it,  his messiness surrounding his breakup with Jordin Sparks has completely overshadowed it. Like I’ve said on several occasions now, it’s clear that Jason likes to use his personal life, good, bad and indifferent, to create buzz. But the way he’s gone about it in the last few weeks is so utterly messy, he can’t possibly think he’s going to go much farther.
