Can you beat the gay away?
What do weaves have to do with religion?
Not everyone behind the pulpit is leading their flock down the right path. These pastors shocked everyone within ear shot when they flipped the script with these controversial sermons that come straight out of left field. Would you stay in the congregation after hearing one of these?
Pastor Jamal Bryant, These Hoes Ain’t Loyal
In almost every sermon, there comes a part where you reach over to touch your neighbor and say “neighbor.” But we never thought the next word would be “these hoes ain’t loyal” until we heard this sermon from Pastor Jamal Bryant.
But what we really can’t understand is that after he quoted the Chris Brown lyrics, the congregation went wild. Are we missing some spiritual lessons about side pieces from the bible?
Phil Robertson, Gays Are Going to Hell
Is Duck Dynasty on the path to righteousness? Parishoners who gathered to hear controversial Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson preach apparently thought so. And they couldn’t have been surprised when he preached the sermon “All Gays Are Going to Hell.” We wonder where hate mongers end up.
Porsha Williams, You’re Going to Pay for Being Gay
Duck Dynasty isn’t the only reality show with stars against homosexuality. Porsha Williams shocked Real Housewives of Atlanta fans when an old video surfaced of her in the pulpit preaching that lesbians and people who attempt suicide are “going to pay” unless they realize they are “worthy” enough to turn from their paths.
Mase, The Devil Is A Liar And So Am I
Can you catch hell from a pastor who’s lying from he pulpit? When Mase was preaching this sermon on how to stay happily married, he was busy trying to divorce his wife and partner in ministry on the low. Now he’s flip-flopped back to the ways of the world and we just hope he hasn’t damage his flock along the way.
Xola Skosana, Jesus Was HIV Positive
Can you just say anything about Jesus? Because South African pastor Xola Skosana says he has HIV. Pastor Skosana says he’s spreading this message about “his Jesus” to give hope to the millions of Africans afflicted with the HIV virus. But his critics thinks he’s been taking his metaphor too far.
Pasor A.J. Aamir, No Hair Weaves
We remember Jesus saying “come as you are” but we guess pastor A.J. Aamir didn’t get that message.
Bishop Wayne T. Jackson, Lay It Down
We’ve heard of laying hands, but laying bodies? Would you let your pastor lay on top of you and vibrate to cast your demons out? Because that’s exactly what’s going on at Greater Faith International Ministries in Detroit, Michigan. Is this a deeper kind of spiritual connection, or something else?
Pastor Mike Scruggs, Stripper Poles and Sex Education
What would you do if you walked into church on Sunday and saw a stripper pole in the pulpit? That’s what happened at Light of Word Ministries in White Oak, Ohio when Pastor Mike Scruggs started his “Battle of the Sexes” sermons. He says his married parishoners aren’t having enough sex so he’s devoted several sermons to encouraging them to have sex seven days in one week to spice up their relationships.
Katy Perry’s Parents, Jews Love Money
“You know how to make the Jew jealous? Have some money, honey.” Katy Perry’s father Keith Hudson dropped these words of wisdom from the pulpit of Church on the Rise in Westlake, Ohio. Then her mother Mary Hudson closed out the sermon with thanking Katy Perry’s divorce from her atheist husband Russel Brand for bringing more people to Jesus. They know Jesus was a Jew, right?
Darrell Gilyard, No Kids Allowed
Would you listen to the word from a registered and convicted sex offender? Not only are the members of Missionary Baptist Church coming to see the Jacksonville minister preach, they’ve agreed to ban kids from the congregation — because the law says he can’t have any contact with him… We have so many questions but we’re not sure we want the answer to any of them.
Pastor Manning, Obama Is A Pervert Turning Black Men Gay
We’ve heard a lot of sermons geared toward black women. But this is the first time we’ve been warned to watch out for the white homosexuals that President Obama sent to take our men…
John Hagee, God Hates Welfare
We remember stories of Jesus helping the poor. But controversial preacher John Hagge seems to think that what Jesus meant to say was that “nasty” welfare recipients don’t deserve to eat if they can’t work. According to him, “God’s position” is that “the man who does not work shall not eat.”
Pastor Sean Harris, Beat the Gay Away
Do you get your parenting techniques from the pulpit? If you’re a member of Berean Baptist Church in Fayetteville, that could get you in trouble. Pastor Sean Harris told his parishioners that if they notice their toddler has a limp wrist, they should punch him:
Dads, the second you see your son dropping the limp wrist, you walk over there and crack that wrist. Man up. Give him a good punch. Ok? You are not going to act like that. You were made by God to be a male and you are going to be a male.
Does that sound like something Jesus would do?
Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, Don’t Let Women Vote
Do you know your reverend’s views on women? Reverend and Tea Party activist Jesse Lee Peterson shocked everyone within ear shot when he said that women shouldn’t vote because they’re too emotional.
“I think that one of the greatest mistakes America made was to allow women the opportunity to vote.. In the good old days, men knew that women are crazy and they knew how to deal with them… You walk up to them with a issue, they freak out right away. They go nuts. They get mad. They get upset, just like that. They have no patience because it’s not in their nature.”
