Man do you hate this job — but are you sure you’re the only one that knows that? If you show up 100% done every day, your boss could be picking up on your major attitude. If you still need your nine-to-five to pay a few more bills, practice your fake smiles before you’re prematurely shown the door.

Are you sure those sighs and eye-roll always fly under the radar? Some employees will smile in your face while complaining about your performance behind your back.
You Hate Stupid Questions
And you answer the phone with an attitude when you feel one coming. If customer service is part of your job description, put a mirror in your cubicle. Studies have found that most phone reps don’t know they’re giving customers attitude until they see it in the mirror.
You Take Long “Detox” Lunches
Sometimes 45 minutes isn’t enough to decompress. The more you think about going back in, the longer you sit in your car. But your boss could be quietly adding those detoxifying lunches to a list of reasons to let you go.
Your Facebook Page Is Full of Frustration
You keep your friends cracking up with your Facebook rants. But are you sure you haven’t added your boss or co-workers to the list? You wouldn’t be the first person fired over Facebook shenanigans.
You Skimp on Assignments
You thought about going the extra mile but then you remembered that this job could kiss your entire behind. Doing the bare minimum feels fair on your end, but it could negatively affect your next performance review or keep you from getting your next job.
You’ve Had More Than One Outburst
Every once in a while you’ve had it up to here. But those nasty e-mails, storm outs and eye rolls can add up. If there could be a file somewhere with your name on it, it could be time to brush up your resume.
There Are Work Updates You Aren’t Aware Of
You used to be up on all the changes at work. But now you’re out of the loop. Cutting you out of meetings and memos could be your supervisor’s way of slowly pushing you out.
You And Your Boss Are Like Oil And Water
Only one of you can win this war of friction but it’s probably not going to be you. Find a way to get along or find a way to move on.
They Pay you Just Enough to Stay
Your work is good, your boss is pleasant but you haven’t had a raise in a long while. It could be a subtle sign that they’re willing to underpay you until you finally get frustrated and leave.
There’s Already Been A Meeting
Permanent files are hard to erase. If there’s already been a meeting about your attitude, they could use it as an excuse to hold back scheduled raises or ask for your resignation. If you can’t wipe the slate clean, focus on building up a pattern of good behavior while you shop your resume around.
You’re Being Micromanaged
Every time you make a false move, your manager is in your face or sending you a memo about it. Chances are, you’re being watched for slip ups that are going into your “reasons to fire” file.
You Have Fewer Responsibilities
Suddenly answering phones is no longer part of your job description. If you haven’t been asked to take on other responsibilities, you’re being prepared for a demotion.
You’ve Been Asked “Are You Happy Here?”
That’s your bosses way of putting you on notice that they’ve noticed you’re unhappy there. What they might not say is that things have to change or they could change them for you.
