Interracial couples are present throughout society, from your neighbors to the upper echelons of everything from sports, entertainment and beyond. With interracial couples reaching new high levels of acceptance in the US, it stands to reason that they would also be climbing the ladder of power as well.

George Lucas & Mellody Hobson

George Lucas is the mastermind behind the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchise who has captivated every cosmic and archaeological nerd in the world. You know he got coins! After Disney bought Star Wars in 2012, the man’s net worth reportedly jumped to $7.3 billion. Whew. Standing alongside the richest celebrity of 2013 is Mellody Hobson. Hobson, who has dated Lucas since 2006, is a hotshot moneymaker as well; she’s the president of Ariel Investments, LLC,  a Chicago investment firm that manages over $9 billion in assets. Hobson, worth $5 million, married Lucas last June.

 Michael Jordan & Yvette Prieto

Michael Jordan, arguably the greatest basketball player of all time, is livin’ the life with $1 billion sitting in the bank. During the past several months, Jordan recently increased his stake in the Charlotte Hornets from 80 to nearly 90 percent. Forbes says in January, the Hornets were valued at $410 million. Now? They’re worth between $600 million and $625 million. Sharing in Jordan’s opulence is Yvette Prieto, a Cuban-American model of Caucasian descent.  The two walked down the aisle last Spring.

Peter Norton & Gwen Adams

Who’s Peter Norton? You may not know the man, but you’re most likely familiar with his brand. Norton is the founder of Norton Computing, a PC software company which was sold to Symantec for $70 million in 1990. Since then, the Norton name survived in Symantec products such as Norton Antivirus, Norton Personal Firewall, and Norton Internet Security. Though not as wealthy, Gwen Adams, a financier of West Indian descent, ain’t so bad herself as the former SVP of Wachovia Bank.  Adams now serves as a consultant for the UN Office for International Partnerships. Adams married Norton, reportedly worth $400 million, in 2007.

Wolfgang Puck & Gelila Assefa

Gelila Assefa, an award-winning philanthropist, is an Ethiopian-born designer known for her couture handbags and gowns — and she caught the eye of world-renowned chef, Wolfgang Puck.

Puck, worth $75 million (almost five times the earnings of Paula Deen), put a ring on Assefa in 2005 and married her in 2007. Perhaps the Austrian-born cook won over the East African beauty with one of his mouth-watering cuisines — yum!

Matt Stone & Angela Howard

“You killed Kenny!” It’s a phrase that made Matt Stone a millionaire as the co-creator of South Park. Winner of four Emmy Awards, Stone is sitting on a cool $300 million. The “ethnically Jewish” animator married Angela Howard, a Comedy Central executive, in 2008. Together, they have two kids.

Dr. Dre & Nicole Young

Thanks to Apple’s acquisition of Beats, Dr. Dre boasts a net worth of $780 million. The hip-hop mogul-turned-entrepreneur married Nicole Threatt, an attorney, 19 years ago and they’ve been together ever since. At the time, she was with LA Laker Sedale Threatt and Dre wasn’t having it. In attempt to woo her over to his side, he wrote her this infamous — erm — “romantic” letter. One thing’s for sure, financially speaking, Nicole made the right pick.

David Bowie & Iman

In the mid-70s, English singer-songwriter David Bowie reached the pinnacle of success in America with his hit single Fame.  Around the same time, 1976, Somali supermodel Iman landed her first modeling gig for Vogue. This helped her gain visibility among prominent designers including Yves Saint-Laurent, Donna Karen, and Versace.

The Bowie and Iman romance blossomed after a blind date in 1990 and they’ve never left each other’s side. “I don’t have that sense of loneliness that I had before, which was very, very strong,” Bowie said of his relationship. Bowie, worth $230 million, and Iman, worth $25 million, got hitched in 1992.

Tina Turner & Erwin Bach

The What’s Love Got to Do With It singer, Tina Turner, has an estimated net worth of $200 million.  Though the 74-year-old legendary songstress has sold more concert tickets than any other solo performer, Ms. Turner still gets sweaty palms and a pounding heart beat — specifically around her 57-year-old lover, Erwin Bach (net worth $50 million), a German record company executive. The two met in ’86 and after a 27-year partnership, Turner and Bach consolidated their love and tied the knot last year in Switzerland.

Robert De Niro & Grace Hightower

Robert De Niro, one of the richest Oscar Winners of all time, is America’s favorite mobster actor and wallows in a net worth of $185 million. While De Niro had a solid grip on his acting career, his wife, Grace Hightower, almost slipped through his hands. In 1999, he filed for divorce and sued Hightower for custody of their son, Elliott. Thankfully, the two worked things out and De Niro nixed the divorce filings and renewed his vows with his wife in 2004. De Niro ain’t the only one making a coin, though! Hightower is also doin’ her thang as a coffee entrepreneur — she founded Grace Hightower and Coffees of Rwanda, which is currently sold at Whole Foods and other upscale grocers. The powerhouse duo have been together for 21 years.

Justin Chambers & Keisha Chambers

Keisha Chambers, a booker for a modeling agency, met Justin Chambers, a Grey’s Anatomy actor, while he was starring in ad campaigns for Calvin Klein. The two got married in ’93 and have kept the knot tied for more than 20 years. Now, the model-actor has an estimated net worth of $215 million. Chambers’ should thank his wise stock investments, property holdings, endorsement deals, restaurants (“Fat Chambers Burger” chain in Washington) and new brand of vodka for his fortunes. And he seems quite content to share his wealth with Keisha and his five kids. “We’ve been together for so long that I really don’t know any other way to be,” the model-actor, 43, told Good Housekeeping.

Halle Berry & Olivier Martinez

Olivier Martinez’s net worth ($20 million) does not even come close to Halle Berry’s $70 million. But Ms. Berry certainly upgraded from Canadian model Gabriel Aubrey, her ex-boyfriend and baby daddy, who is valued at just $4.5 million. Martinez accumulated his wealth from his career in the French film industry. Berry and Martinez, bonding over their craft, met on the set of Dark Tide in 2010. Three years later, Berry and Martinez merged to become a Hollywood superpower — they got married in 2013. “I think he’s delicious,” Berry said ’bout Martinez.
