Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed Engaged & Expecting First Child

Atlanta mayor Kasim Reed recently announced that he’s engaged to be married to former beauty queen Sarah-Elizabeth Langford, AJC reports.
“I could not feel more blessed that she agreed to marry me, and we look forward to building a family together in the greatest city in America,” said Reed in a statement released this morning.
“I am honored to have our friends and family share this special moment with us and I ask that our privacy is respected as we celebrate this personal occasion,” his statement continued.
It turns out that the two are also expecting their first child together. While the news was a shock to some, others have been speculating for months that Reed and Langford were planning a wedding. Langford appears to be an ideal candidate for the position of First Lady of Atlanta, as she’s no stranger to the world of politics. She is the daughter of former Atlanta City Attorney Susan Pease Langford and late State Senator Arthur Langford. It’s currently unclear specifically when Reed and his bride-to-be plan on tying the knot. However, we’ll be sure to keep you posted as further details emerge.
