After another break because of the Academy Awards (well, that’s what we assumed), Real Housewives of Atlanta is back, and the ladies are in Mexico! But before we can get to the early drama in Mexico, we have to discuss what happened before folks boarded the plane; this includes NeNe bashing Marlo, Marlo bashing NeNe, and of course, the return of Kordell, who was too ready to set the record straight about Porsha. Let’s chat.

NeNe Refuses To Discuss Bailey Bowl Blow Up With Cynthia
First things first, NeNe meets up with a mimosa drinking, swimsuit shopping Cynthia to chat and look for cute new swimwear for the trip to Mexico that Kenya has planned. After discussing their differing bikini bodies (and how God blessed NeNe with two kids and zero stretch marks), Cynthia tries to pick NeNe’s brains about the Bailey Bowl. After saying that her event started off good but went left because of some folks (you know who), NeNe lets Cynthia know real quick that she will NOT be talking about Marlo. She’s way past the “I’m through” stage with Ms. Hampton: “Marlo is never coming up in a conversation with me. Never muthaf**kin happening. So don’t ask me about it.” Looks like NeNe might have benefitted from a mimosa to relax her because that tongue was too sharp…

The New BFFs, Marlo and Kenya, Meet Up To Trash NeNe
While NeNe might not want to discuss Marlo again, Marlo has no problem dishing on her issues with her old friend. Kenya stops by and the two discuss the reality of why NeNe is pissed at Marlo. Marlo claims NeNe put her on a three-way phone call with Cynthia before the charity ball fiasco to chew her out about befriending Kenya. Marlo claimed that she wasn’t having that though, because friends don’t tell other friends who they can…well, you know, be friends with:
“I’m a grown a** woman, I can be friends with whoever I want to be friends with. I’m your friend, not your fan.”
Kenya also said that she believed NeNe’s struggles with her once budding acting career is another big reason for her recent behavior. “She thought she was going to leave everybody behind in LA and be this big Hollywood star, and now that’s gone.”

Phaedra Tells Apollo That She Doesn’t Trust Him And Kenya In Mexico Together
Moving over to see Phaedra, Apollo and their beautiful kids, the family is cleaning up the pool area and chatting. After discussing the Bailey Bowl blow up with Apollo, Phaedra brings up the trip her archnemesis Kenya has planned for all the couples in Mexico. Of course, Kenya and Apollo’s past inappropriate behavior has Phaedra leery of bringing her husband along with her to Mexico: “Somebody bound to get killed this year.” She says that she was thinking of leaving Apollo at home and taking Dwight as her plus one, something he didn’t like: “You don’t want me around her?” Phaedra could go through a list of reasons why she doesn’t want to bring him since Anguilla was such a disaster for them, but instead, she just lets him know that “I’m not in the mood for anymore stupidity.”

The Return of Kordell
For some reason (maybe it’s guy code…or being nosy), Peter wanted Kordell Stewart to share his side of the story when it comes to the end of his marriage with Porsha. Peter travels to Kordell’s, and is filled in on why the former NFL star couldn’t cope with his marriage anymore: he blames her family. That’s right. Kordell says that her family was always coming around, eating large pizzas and such, intruding on their relationship and the issues that came with it. He also claims that she started abandoning the responsibilities she said she would take on, so for Stewart, she had to go: “She was so disrespectful.” As for the reports that Porsha found out about their divorce on social media, he says they had talked about divorce months prior so she knew what was up. “She knew it was coming, it was just a matter of time…trust me, she know what it is.” As for the actual things they need to split and figure out through their divorce proceedings, Kordell says he never put Porsha’s name on anything because he claims that she couldn’t handle paying her own bills before they married. “I can’t let a knucklehead come in and destroy what I have.” That could be true, but damn, does she have to be a knucklehead? You knew the “knucklehead” you were marrying…

Kenya Heads To Mexico
With her homeboy Lawrence alongside her, Kenya heads to Mexico a day early to make sure everything is on point for the arrival of all the couples. She puts pictures of herself in all the rooms and puts together gift bags with fake mustaches, ponchos and hats. As the two try these fun pieces on, Lawrence says he wants to teach the men how to twirl, and does the funniest impression of Gregg we’ve ever heard in the process. Though we love Lawrence, we still can’t help but wonder why Kenya wouldn’t bring her “African prince” to a couples vacation, or as Porsha calls him, “her invisible African prince.”

Where’s Phaedra? And Is She Bringing Apollo?
Once all the couples get to the airport, they find that Phaedra is not there. NeNe explains that Phaedra claimed she couldn’t find her passport, and would try to get on another flight the day after everyone else. NeNe, however, really thinks that Phaedra wanted to get the tea on what Kenya had planned first, before she decided on whether or not to come with Apollo. Once everyone gets to Mexico, they all jump in a limo to go to their lodging, and the ride quickly becomes uncomfortable when Peter tells Porsha that he spoke with Kordell. He tells her that he wants to eventually get her side of the story on everything that was going on with them, and this convo makes everyone in the limo quiet, especially a blindsided Porsha.

Cynthia Apologizes For Peter’s Behavior, Porsha Claims Kordell Has Slandered Her
After getting a festive welcome from Kenya in a poncho and bikini, everyone is assigned to a very nice room. Because Kenya is still trying her hardest to make NeNe love her, she gives her a presidential suite at their lodging to “make up for” everything that happened at the Pillow Talk Event. Who knew that starting drama and trying to publicly embarrass folks warranted you a master suite!? Once everyone settles in, Cynthia chats with Porsha to make sure things are all good after Peter put her on the spot on the way from the airport. Porsha tells her that she was fine with what happened, but wanted to make sure Cynthia didn’t know that Peter visited Kordell to get his side of the story, because that would have hurt her since they are girlfriends. Cynthia says she had no idea about Peter’s plans. Porsha then tells her that she felt Kordell was dragging her name through the mud in the media (she clearly had Kordell mistaken for herself), and Cynthia replies with, “I haven’t heard anything from him really.” All in all, the two women hug, and Porsha thinks she’s done talking about Kordell for the rest of their trip. Wrong.

Gregg Tries To Encourage Porsha To Consider Working Things Out With Kordell, She Tells Her Side Of The Story
Once the couples get to dinner dressed all fancy, Kenya plays switcheroo on ’em, making everyone sit with someone who is NOT their partner. Of course, she ends up right next to her crush, NeNe. As they all sit, Phaedra actually walks in with Apollo, and after greeting the folks they like, they sit down together, the only couple to sit side-by-side. Once they all start eating and chatting, Gregg tells Porsha out of the blue that as someone who went through a divorce and reunited with his love, NeNe, Porsha could be missing out on a real blessing with Kordell. Porsha, already exasperated at having to talk about her relationship issues again, says she thinks she’s ready to just move on as everyone asks her if she thinks they will reunite. At one point, Peter (who is sitting next to Kenya) plays detective and grills her about why things didn’t work out. She claims that one of the reasons was because Kordell didn’t keep up his end of the bargain. He didn’t financially support her the way she would have liked when she decided to stay at home and take care of their son (Kordell’s young son from a previous relationship). She wanted to go out and work (be on RHOA) and things went downhill from there.

Porsha Is Pushed Into A Corner By Peter And Kenya, Claim She Played Kordell’s “Beard”
The conversation turns left when Porsha says that she knew of the rumors about Kordell and the dark things from his past, and hoped to help him move past all that when they married. Somehow, this sounds like “beard” to Kenya, so she pounces. As for Peter, he tells Porsha that she made Kordell sound like a pet project: “You made it seem like you were on a PR campaign when you got with him. Please take that back.” In the end, a peeved Porsha reminded them they that don’t know the real deal about her marriage and she’s tired of people coming to false conclusions based on little bits and pieces of info they hear. For me, as a viewer, there was a lot of confusion based on what Porsha had previously told the media about her divorce and what she said in this episode, but we actually agreed with NeNe (for once) when she said that Peter overstepped his balance by playing investigator about someone else’s relationship. Fall back, bruh.
