Does your guy use the L-word sparingly, leaving you wondering if he really loves you? Not so fast: guys show love in subtle ways sometimes. Here are a few of them.

He boasts to his friends

Do all of your guy’s friends know about your accomplishments before you get the chance to tell them? Do they even know about frivolous facts about you, like that you put Blue Cheese dressing on everything or love the movie “The Little Mermaid”? Do they already know about everything you and your guy did last week before you start the story?

What it means

Your guy really cares what his friends think about you! If he tells them about all of your accomplishments, he wants them to agree that you’re a total catch. If they know you put Blue Cheese dressing on everything, then that means everything reminds him of you and he’s blurting out details about you left and right.

He cares about your “silly” problems

When you complain that the cashier was rude at the drugstore, does your guy respond with a sympathetic, “Ugh, that’s the worst” and share a similar experience he’s had? When you complain to him that the polish your manicurist has been using on you is chipping, does he suggest a solution?

What it means

Most guys will just tell you you’re being a big baby if you’re complaining about the drug store cashier, or they’ll nod off when you talk about your nail polish. But to a guy who loves you, everything you say carries importance. And he can’t help but feel emotions you feel, so he’s annoyed at the cashier too!

He is always fixing something

Any time your guy is over, he is investigating the nook and cranny of whatever piece of furniture/appliance/door he is standing in front of, making sure it works properly, making sure it’s the best model and so on.

What it means

He thinks about you so much, that he cannot stand the idea of you waiting too long for your smoothie because your blender doesn’t work, or a door that shuts too fast closing on your hand. If he doesn’t fix these things, he’ll be driven crazy worrying that you’re uncomfortable or inconvenienced in any way.

He texts you about nothing at all

He texts you to say, “Ugh. This grocery store line is too long” or “I have this song stuck in my head…do you like that song?”

What it means

He wants to know your thoughts on absolutely everything! He wishes you were with him all of the time, so he finds a way to make that sort of happen via text message. He thinks talking to you makes even the most mundane things in life entertaining and enjoyable.

He picks up your good habits

He’s stopped eating meat, or he always gives money to homeless people, or he calls his mom every week.

What it means

First of all, he thinks that you’ve got the right idea about life. He thinks you seem as happy or as smart as a person can be, so mimicking your habits is a good idea. He also loves you so much that you make him want to be a better person.

He wants your company on boring errands

He asks if he can pick you up and bring you around town with him to drop off dry cleaning and go grocery shopping and go to the home improvement store.

What it means

Similar to him texting you about nothing at all, he thinks your presence is so wonderful, that it makes something as boring as waiting in line at the pharmacy to pick up a prescription a good time.
