No shade, we just know what we like to see from the fellas. And when it comes to these general cuties, we prefer to see them rocking a hat over their  dome. Whether it’s an oddly shaped head, a weird hair line or the fact that a hat pushes their hair back and lets you see all of their fineness, some dudes just need the lid. So check out our list of men who look better in hats and then of course sound off and let us know if you agree or disagree.

LL Cool J

There’s a reason LL stays with a hat. Remember, on his show, “In The House,” his character Marion could not be seen without something covering his head? He even wore a shower cap to bathe. Well honey, that wasn’t just for his character. James had an image to uphold with the ladies and perhaps he knew if he took off the cap, he’d lose a bit of that. Well, as he got older maybe he got more comfortable and revealed the baldie he had hiding underneath. And in the picture above, most of us would agree he doesn’t resemble himself. Not a bad looking dude either way but that hat though…

Young Jeezy

Do you see the way the light is reflecting off of the point on Jeezy’s head?! The Poindexter is real. But with a hat on, he looks like a completely different dude. More thuggish and also more masculine. I know you can’t see the whole hat effect in the picture below. But I chose it because I love the man’s jacket in the photo below. Is that pony hair?

Ne-Yo

Whoa! Sure we don’t expect Ne-Yo to be “on” when he’s posing for a mug shot. But it’s clear to see that this receding hair line is the reason this producer and singer will not be seen in these streets, with the exception of a movie role (see Red Tails), without something covering his noggin.

Cedric the Entertainer

Awww we love our little chocolate teddy bear Ced! He’s a cutie pie either way but when a man can rock a hat, any style of hat, with as much style and swag as Cedric, we want to see him like that all of the time. Plus you gotta love the coordination.

Ashton Kutcher

Time for the Whitey McTighty time! It’s no secret that Ashton’s as fine as the day is long and wouldn’t kick him out of bed if wasn’t wearing a hat. But since the actor and prankster has such an affinity for bangs, it’s nice to see him push his hair back with a hat so we can behold all of his glory.

Samuel L Jackson

It’s hard to remember that Samuel L. is baldie. When he’s out, whether the paps catch him fresh out of the car or on the red carpet, more than likely, Jackson is rocking a cap. I don’t know if he looks better with or without it but something about the hat seems to be more the essence of Samuel. It’s young and hip as Samuel will always be in my mind.

Taye Diggs

I must be one of the few black women who still proudly proclaims that Taye Diggs could get it. Despite how corny some of ya’ll claim he is. And as much as I ride for Taye, even I have to admit that the brotha can wear a hat. But that being said while I agree he looks better in the second picture than he does in the first, there are a few things at work here. First, there’s facial hair in the second photo. And you know that makes for a new man. Then there’s the hat which works. And lastly there are the glasses. Which make my boo look so distinguished.

Andre 3000

Another mug shot. One of the few times we’ve seen Andre without a hat. The only other time I can recall Andre stepping out without a hat was the “Hey Ya” video. But even then he had a fresh press out. Otherwise it’s the hat… and we’re here for it. Plus freedom and a smile never hurt anyone’s  appearance.

Mos Def

We love Mos. He’s intelligent, conscious, thoughtful and let’s be real he’s fine… He’s adorable but there’s something about either his hairline or the shape of his head that makes him even more attractive with a hat on.
