Happy Founder’s Day to Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc! The ladies of blue and white were founded on January 16, 1920, at Howard University. The five founding members created a sisterhood that truly embraced scholarship, sisterly love, and a “noble concept of Finer Womanhood. Bernette Johnson

Zeta sister Bernette Johnson is the first African-American woman to serve on the Louisiana Supreme Court. She’s also the first to become Chief Justice.

Evelyn Fields

Zeta sister Evelyn Fields is the first woman, and first African American, to hold the position  of Rear Admiral. She is also the  former director of the Office of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Corps Operations and the NOAA Commissioned Officer Corps.
