Have we seen the last of uber-angry Momma Joyce showing her disdain for Todd and Carmon this season? Maybe so, because last night Joyce waved her white flag on all the drama. On top of that, the ladies prepared for their trip to Savannah, and of course, all hell broke loose before they could even get on the bus and get moving. It was another dramatic hour of TV (make that 45 minutes without all the commercials), so let’s go over what moments had us all talking from last night’s episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta.

NeNe And Gregg Play Dress Up For Her Trip To Savannah

Who’s ready for Savannah!? NeNe doesn’t know it at the moment as she digs around her closet, but she might be the only one. Just a bit of foreshadowing for you guys…

Looking for clothing to wear for the girls trip to good ‘ol Savannah. In the process, Gregg tries on all NeNe’s accessories and gives her man a curfew for the days she’s away. Honestly, that was all that really went on in this scene, and maybe that’s why it was so short. C’mon now, you’re going to have to spice it up, NeNe!

Cynthia Gives Kandi Advice On Dealing With Meddling Moms

Knowing all that Cynthia went through with her mother and sister when she was preparing to marry Peter, Kandi decided to seek advice from her about what she should do about Momma Joyce and her aunts, aka, the “old lady gang.” While trying to share her story, Kandi ends up breaking down in tears, crying about how unpredictable her family is and her confusion about having a big wedding if her mother and aunts refuse to show up. Cynthia eventually tells baby girl that she’s going to have to keep pushing on and should have whatever wedding she wants. Cynthia reminds her that not having the wedding of her dreams because her mom isn’t feeling her man won’t change anything for her mom, but it will leave Kandi with regrets. Kandi decides that she needs to sit down with her mom one mo’ gin and set things straight for good.

Momma Joyce Puts Phaedra In An Uncomfortable Position

Remember that clip we sent you during the week with Joyce seeking prenup advice from Phaedra for Kandi and Todd? Well in Sunday night’s episode we had the chance to see how it all went down. The minute Momma Joyce walked into Phaedra’s office, the mood soured. Phaedra’s son Ayden literally didn’t speak to Joyce when she walked in giving the Evillene eye. When Phaedra whispered to Ayden that she would give him a treat if he said hello, he responded with “I don’t want a treat” while looking Joyce dead in the eye. Phaedra had him exit stage left as she conversed with Joyce.

Joyce grilled Phaedra about prenuptial agreements and asked her why she hooked Todd and Kandi up. I was proud of the Southern Belle because she to told Joyce, Todd isn’t going anywhere because “Kandi thinks he’s the one and so do I.” Momma Joyce responds with, “I could choke you right now.” Yikes. My favorite quote from their encounter was Phaedra asking Momma Joyce, “Have ya’ll ever liked any of the guys Kandi has dated?” We all know that the answer is no, but Joyce says she has, even though Kandi didn’t end up liking the guys she was feeling. Clearly Kandi knows what she likes and wants, and it’s time for Joyce to pull an Ayden and exit stage left.

Kenya Twerks While Packing…Cause That’s All There Is To Her Storyline

Another segment with Kenya, another reason to twerk on something and make a song out of it.

Kenya and her assistant Brandon are packing for Kenya’s trip to Savannah with the girls, and while doing so they wind up talking about Phaedra and Apollo again. Kenya says she’s tired of discussing the incident, but she knows that just because she “waved the white flag” with Phaedra, she still can’t trust her. Kenya tries to make a crass comment about trusting Phaedra as far as she can throw her, “and because she weighs about 200 pounds or more, we all know that’s about an inch.” SHUT UP Kenya. She reiterates this lack of trust by “joking” about possibly taking her gun with her, in case “a donkey is feeling froggy.” Her assistant Brandon decides on that note, he needs to leave her be, and we’re feeling the same way. Unfortunately this isn’t the last time Kenya will get on your last nerve in this episode…

Momma Joyce And Kandi Hash It Out

So Kandi meets up with her mother, and Joyce is back with her Evillene eye. But this time, we’re proud to see that Kandi puts her backbone in place and stands up to her mom. In the beginning, Joyce tried to claim that Carmon threatened to open a can of whoop a** on her, and that Kandi chose Carmon over her: “I don’t care if I was wrong, I’m your mother. You picked Carmon over me.”

Kandi shut all that down by telling her mom she didn’t choose anybody over anybody else, and that she needs to stop trying to play the victim role. In the end, Momma Joyce said she was through with Carmon, Todd, the drama and Kandi. She said that she would support whatever decision Kandi makes from afar, but she doesn’t want to be bothered with her daughter’s business anymore. I guess she realized it was the best move after Kandi pointed out that Joyce had already been married three times when she was Kandi’s age, and she was allowed room to make those mistakes.

Porsha Shops ‘Til She Drops–Even Though She Lives With Her Mom

Porsha is trying to get her shoe game in check before she heads off to Savannah with the girls. She stops at Gregory’s with her sister and her stylist to look for some shoes. When married to Kordell, he had no problem paying for her to buy whatever shoes caught her eye from time to time, but now that she’s on her own, with no real job (except for the show) and living at her mom’s home, she’s trying to budget. At least, that’s what she claims. That is of course, until the sales associate brings her a $7,000 pair of glittery gold gladiator sandals that she struts around in. After tempting herself for a while, she realizes the shoes were way out of her price range…and then settles on some $3,000 gold booties instead. That’s right…somebody’s rent for a pair of shoes that had spikes all over them. As I said on Twitter yesterday, she needs to quit playing and go to Macy’s or somewhere inexpensive until she’s fully on her own two feet. No need to fake the funk in your momma’s master bedroom.

The Ladies Don’t Believe In Punctuality

So this is where things started to get messy. Once again, NeNe tries to get all the ladies gathered so they can eat before they get on the bus and head to Savannah. She asks them to be promptly show up at 11 a.m. While Kenya (who happily points out that everyone else is late) and NeNe’s friend Mynique are there on time, the rest of the ladies mosey in at preposterous times: Cynthia and Porsha come after 12, Kandi comes at late 1, and Phaedra makes her way to the gathering last at 2 p.m. Yikes! The ladies have wack excuses for their tardiness (except for Phaedra, who reminds folks later that she has a newborn).  Of course, NeNe is peeved about this and leaves for a bit to get her mind right so she doesn’t stab anyone. Unfortunately, Kenya uses NeNe’s absence as an opportunity to take over and become the head bossy chick. And boy, does she milk it for all it’s worth.

Kenya Decides To Become “The Principal Of The School Bus”

Kenya calls NeNe, who with a lack of her usual flair tells the ladies they can get on the bus if they’re all finally there. NeNe returns to get on the bus and start the already hot mess of a trip to Savannah. But in the meantime, Kenya tries to get the women together to get on the bus, and they’re not moving as fast as they could be. She yells more than once at all of them, voice shrill as hell, forgetting that she’s speaking to grown women. By the time they get to the bus, Kandi has had just about enough of Kenya…as has everyone else.

Kenya and Kandi Go At It

Once they all get on the bus, Kenya decides to give everyone a piece of her mind FOR NENE, something Ms. Leakes knows she can do adequately on her own. All of a sudden she comes out of nowhere with all these rules, saying that since she was the second person there on time (NOT TRUE since Mynique was there second), she and NeNe will get their pick of the nice rooms at the place they’re staying at in Savannah. She also calls the women out, especially Phaedra, for being late. Eventually, homegirl has to be set straight, so Kandi politely tells her, “Don’t nobody give a f**k about what you saying so sit yo a** down!” Both women end up having a screaming match on the bus as a frustrated NeNe says in her confessional, “I put together this event and once again, you’re trying to be the center of attention” in reference to Kenya. Ain’t that the truth!?
