Be yourself
One of the most important aspects of flirting is being able to be yourself. Guys will eventually see right through you if you are putting on some facade in order to reel him in. How you flirt with a man should reflect your personality. If you’re shy, don’t go all out in attempts to flirt with a man. If you’re more outgoing, than it’s acceptable to be a bit more forward when it comes to flirting.

Make eye contact
Eye contact is key in order for a guy to know that you’re into him and that you’re sending flirtatious signals his way. Don’t stare at him creepily, but find ways to make eye contact with him, especially when he least expects it. When you two start to catch eyes more and more, the flirting signals will be a lot more obvious.

Smile at him
Smiling alone won’t tell a guy that you’re interested in him, but it’s definitely part of the flirting equation. You’ll want to smile at a man to let him know that you’re interested and that most importantly, you’re a friendly woman. No man wants to go after someone who comes off as cold and detached. Smile at him and he’ll more than likely smile back.

Find reasons to get close to him
When you’re in a situation where you’re physically around this guy, find ways to get close to him. Sit next to him at lunch or meet up with him and stay at his side. Getting close to a man is important, but you don’t want to be pushy about it. Some men, just like women, are very aware of their personal space. Unless you know this guy wants you as well, don’t get too close or else you may come across as being too forward.

Make small talk with him
One way to show a man you’re interested is to make small talk with him. Don’t flood his ears with conversation but when you have a free moment and he seems to be available, spend a few minutes talking to him. Talk about your day at work and ask him how his classes are going. Making small talk gets you in his mind.

Give compliments
Just like women, men love receiving compliments. When it comes to complimenting a man, you don’t want to go overboard with it. Don’t compliment him every single day on every single thing. Your compliments should be genuine and from the heart. If you think he really looks nice one day, let him know that. Or if his new haircut is just amazing, tell him. But, only compliment a man when you really mean it.

Be curious
Along with small talk, if you want to flirt with a guy and let him know that you’re interested, you’ll have to be curious about him. Ask him questions about himself or just ask questions in general. A man will easily pick up on the fact that you seem to be curious in him and his life, which in turn will show that you’re interested.

Be playful
Laughing and humor is one of the best ways to break the ice with a man. If you can get him laughing and vice versa, the flirting environment is immediately a lot less tense and awkward. Make jokes and try to make him laugh. Tell him funny experiences you’ve had and make sure he reciprocates. Being playful with a man is a good way of showing him that you’re feeling him.

Give him hints
So you really want to take things a bit further with this man and you’re still not at the point where you want to out right ask him on a date. This is where you want to start dropping him hints. Tell him about that movie you really want to see or talk about how you’re dying to go to this new restaurant in the city. By giving these hints, he’ll hopefully catch on and get the clue to maybe take the lead.

Stay in touch
During the times when you’re not physically near this guy, be sure to stay in touch, if you can. If you have his email or his number, drop him a line here and there asking how he is or what he’s up to. This will ensure that you stay in his mind and that you’re clearly interested in him. Of course, don’t go too far with this and blow up his phone or his email, otherwise you’ll quickly become annoying.

Dress nicely
This is a hit or miss for most women. If you want a man to notice you, your appearance plays a huge role. Not only do you need to carry yourself with confidence, but you’ll need to dress like it. Don’t show off too much but don’t dress overly conservative either. A man will always notice a nicely dressed woman who shows nothing but confidence and pride.

Be touchy feely
When you’re trying to flirt with a guy and you get the sense that he’s feeling you, there’s nothing wrong with being a little touchy feely. You don’t want to come out right and have a full on make out session with this guy nor do you want to grab his junk and pull him to bed, but there are some good ways to be touchy feely without stepping over the line. Put your hand on his leg, his back, or his shoulder. Playfully graze your hand on his but pull away. When things get physical, it’s important to make sure that you aren’t going overboard.

Tease him a little
When it comes to flirtatious teasing, there is definitely a fine line between cute and crazy. You don’t want to approach this man in an overly sexual fashion. Instead, it’s best to tease and flirt with him in innocent and subtle ways. Put on your favorite lip gloss. Play with your hair when he’s around. Smile and smirk at him when you two meet eyes. These subtle teases will let a guy know that you’re interested in him.

Go with the flow
When it comes to flirting with a man, it’s important that you’re able to read his signals and go with the flow of things. If this man is sending you back flirtatious signs and words, feel free to step things up a bit. On the other hand, if this guy seems completely oblivious to your flirtations or if you don’t think he’s feeling it, don’t push the subject. Successful flirting is all about going with the flow of things.
