Party to Return Disputed Cash To Bloomberg
(WSJ) — The New York State Independence Party is taking steps to return hundreds of thousands of dollars that a grand jury charged were stolen from Mayor Michael Bloomberg as part of an Election Day scheme orchestrated by a volunteer in the mayor’s campaign, the party chairman said Wednesday. “We have no idea what the outcome of the trial will be, but out of respect for the district attorney and Mayor Bloomberg we’re returning the money in question,” said Frank MacKay, the party’s chairman, in an interview.
