Screenwriter Shonda Rhimes has a lot to celebrate right now. The third season of Scandal premieres on October 3, Grey’s Anatomy is still going strong, she’s got multiple new shows in development as a producer, and now, she is mother to a third child.
Rhimes, 43, announced via Twitter that she had adopted a baby, doing so by apologizing to fans for being away from social media:
Rhimes has already adopted two other daughters, including a little girl she named Harper in 2002, and Emerson Pearl in 2012. Rhimes once talked to Us that she had decided to talk about adoption in story lines on her shows because it was something that she had done and wanted to continue to do. The baby girl, whose name has not been released as of yet, will definitely fit right in with her sisters. We’re very happy for Rhimes. Thank God for tiny humans, aka, babies!
