President Obama hasn’t exactly been swimming in praises as of late, even from his normally adoring base. The fact that the Republicans have a majority in the House (Did you vote in the midterm elections?) doesn’t help matters much and some Democrats aren’t in agreement with President Obama either.  It’s hard to get things done when filibusters stand in your way at every turn.  New policies and nuanced strategies will have to be thought out by his  team of advisers, but in the meantime… Here are some non-policy ideas that might help President Obama rekindle all that ’08 love from his supporters.

1. Renew his vows with Michelle The lovely and graceful First Lady Michelle Obama shares a wonderful bond with her husband that is obvious to see. The President’s schedule is brutal, so it must take tons of patience and understanding on her part. President Obama should acknowledge her tremendous accomplishments as a wife and mother by renewing his vows with her and reaffirming his commitment to his family.  If President Obama re-proposed to her on national television, there would be mass swooning all over the world.

2. Leave Vice President Biden in charge for a day We never get to see Vice President Biden anymore, but he always provided a good soundbite and/or laugh. Remember at that healthcare press conference when he “whispered” to the President “this is a big f*@kin’ deal?” That dude is liable to say anything. The President should let Vice President Biden get loose 24 hours. See how many filibusters go down that day.

4. Participate in a daddy-daughter dance Sasha and Malia are two gorgeous little ladies who obviously love and respect both of their parents.  As any daddy’s girl will tell you though, there is a special bond between daddies and daughters. If Obama participated in a daddy-daughter dance, it would probably be covered live because it would be just that adorable.

7. Throw a national mortgage/rent party Back in the day, people used to have rent parties all the time. The person in need of rent would throw a shindig at her crib and charge a modest admission fee from her neighbors.  How about a national rent/mortgage party day? President Obama used to always talk about the grass roots. You can’t get more grass roots than a rent party.
