‘Hell’s Kitchen’ Winner Ja’Nel Witt Loses Prize Gig Over Failed Drug Test
Imagine going to hell and back and coming out a victor only to turn into the biggest loser. That is what has happened to Ja’Nel Witt.
Witt is the first African-American woman to win the intense reality cooking show Hell’s Kitchen only to have to turn down the grand prize — the head-chef position at Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant in Vegas — because she tested positive for coke.
According to TMZ, Caesars Palace required Witt to submit to a drug test in order to take the job at the Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill. She earned the post after winning Season 11 of Hell’s Kitchen earlier this year. The hotel and resort reportedly has a very strict no-drugs policy. When Witt failed they quickly released her from her contract. They will however let her keep her salary — $250,000.
