1. House Party (1990)

This film was so ingrained in the early ’90s pop culture. The high-top fades, colorful ensembles, and choreographed dance routines made  Kid ‘n Play seem so cool. The best friends who were notorious for their outlandish parties, tapped into our fun-loving, partying ways.

2. Mo’ Money (1992)

This Damon Wayans breakthrough comedy co-starred his younger brother Marlon. Besides “In Living Color,” this romantic-drama-comedy movie put the Wayans brothers on the map due to their clever depictions as con-artists on the run. And of course, how can we forget Damon’s love interest Stacy Dash who had men fawning over her? Oooh..lala!

3. Boomerang (1992)

Eddie Murphy brilliantly pulled together a classic film for both sexes. Men and women could relate to this film for its radical humor. Known to many as a ladies man, Marcus (Eddie Murphy) plays a dashing business executive who woos the ladies until he meets Ms. Right (Robin Givens), who happens to be his boss from. Soon thereafter, he realizes his own imperfections and that’s where things get interesting with Halle Berry’s character. Grace Jones and Eartha Kitt provided some very memorable cameos. “Marrrrrrcusssss!”

4. White Men Can’t Jump (1992)

Movie-goers and basketball fans alike sat courtside with this street comedy flick. It took the game of basketball to another level! Playing as basketball hustlers, Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson united through their love for the sport and battled it out on the court!

5. Bebe’s Kids (1992)

Unexpectedly, we would find a reason to watch reruns of this movie because it was so wild and crazy! The animated film, “Bebe’s Kids” chronicled Robin Harris’ adventures  as he babysat Bebe’s kids all day and unleashed more bad behavior in the process. “We don’t die! We multiply!”

6. Friday (1995)

“Daaaaaaaaaamn!” You were compelled to hold your breath to sit through Smokey (Chris Tucker) and Craig’s (Ice Cube) wild antics in the dramatic-comedy, Friday. This movie garnered many laughs as both buddies spent the entire day getting into trouble on a porch in downtown Los Angeles.

7. The Nutty Professor (1996)

This film was as nutty as it gets! Eddie Murphy struck again with a insanely funny comedy for the ages, playing as a science professor battling with weight and a poor self-image. As he tries to conquer his issues to win the affections of Carla Purty (Jada Pinkett), he brings you endless laugh out loud moments.

8. Money Talks (1997)

Chris Tucker found his niche in Money Talks, playing as a small-time hustler on the run in this drama-action-comedy movie. From start to finish, Tucker’s persona kept us entertained and on the edge of our seats. After he’s framed for murder, he tries desperately to clear his name with the help of a local television reporter (played by Charlie Sheen).

9. Bap’s (1997)

Does this over-the-top, tongue-and-cheek movie ring a bell? The comedy, starring Nisi (Halle Berry) and Mickey (Natalie Desselle), is about two tacky homegirls on a quest to become the B.A.P.S (Black American Princesses) in Los Angeles until they get caught up in a million-dollar scam involving a dying man.
