Celebrity speeches tend to involve a lot of thanks, mainly including parents, close friends, producers, and God. However, these 14 celebrities won’t ever say that three letter word — ever. Though you don’t hear much about them and not many of these celebs are bold with their religious decision, celebrity atheists do exist. Here are 14 who don’t believe in God.

Morgan Freeman

Morgan Freeman isn’t one of those outspoken atheists. In several interviews he has discussed his religious views as well as how he views God. In an interview, Morgan once said “My belief system doesn’t support a creator as such, as we can call God, who created us in his/her/its image.” He believes that God is only real because humans created the idea of a higher being.

Kathy Griffin

Kathy Griffin, the red-headed crazy comedian, has described herself as a militant atheist. Back in 2007, after winning an Emmy Award, Kathy outright expressed her religious views. Her speech included “A lot of people come up here and they thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus. He didn’t help me a bit. So all I can say is suck it, Jesus. This award is my god now.” If her speech didn’t make it clear, I’m not sure what would!

Daniel Radcliffe

Daniel Radcliffe is best known for his role in the Harry Potter movie series. Back in 2009, he spoke out about being an atheist. During an interview he stated “I’m an atheist, but I’m very relaxed about it. I don’t preach my atheism, but I have a huge amount of respect for people like Richard Dawkins who do.” Looks like Daniel sticks to his quiet-nature, even when it comes to religion.

Keira Knightley

Keira Knightley has made a few religious jokes here and there. The actress is best known for her talent, but she’s also made headlines for coming out as an atheist. As said in a 2012 interview “”If only I wasn’t an atheist; I could get away with anything. You’d just ask for forgiveness, and then you’d be forgiven.” Wonder what she’s done that requires forgiveness!

Emma Thompson

Emma Thompson is a British actress and she’s very outspoken about her beliefs, much like Kathy Griffin. As she once said in an interview, “I’m an atheist; I suppose you can call me a sort of libertarian anarchist. I regard religion with fear and suspicion. It’s not enough to say that I don’t believe in God. I actually regard the system as distressing: I am offended by some of the things said in the Bible and the Quran, and I refute them.”

Julianna Moore

Julianna Moore hasn’t come outright and said that she is an atheist, but she has definitely given some interviews that would make you think that was the case. Back in 2002, she was asked what she thinks God would say to her at Heaven’s gates. She responded with “Well, I guess you were wrong. I do exist.”

Billy Joel

Songwriter and singer Billy Joel has shared his religious beliefs through songs as well as in interviews. A lyric from the song “Only the Good Die Young” says “I’d rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.” He’s also been interviewed regarding his religion and said flat out that he’s an atheist.

Seth MacFarlane

It’s no surprise that the creator of Family Guy is an atheist. Seth MacFarlane is one celebrity who is very open and vocal about the religion he practices — or not. When he was interviewed in 2009 by Esquire, he stated that atheism is “like the civil-rights movement. There have to be people who are vocal about the advancement of knowledge over faith.”

Ani DiFranco

Ani DeFranco is a well-known Grammy-winning songwriter as well as singer. She has always been known as someone who speaks out about her political beliefs. She’s a true feminist as well as an anti-war activist, and to wrap everything together, she’s also an atheist. Ani wholeheartedly believes that social justice on earth should be the role of humans, not of a higher being.

Jodie Foster

Not only has Jodie Foster recently spoken out about being gay, she’s also an atheist. Interestingly enough she isn’t one of the religion-hating atheists. Instead she’s been quoted as saying that even though she’s an atheist, she enjoys religions. As said in an interview “I absolutely love religions and the rituals. Even though I don’t believe in God, we celebrate pretty much every religion in our family with the kids.”

Andy Rooney

Though he’s now passed on, during his time as a news commentator, Andy Rooney was pretty outspoken regarding religion. He once said “I am an atheist. I don’t understand religion at all. I’m sure I’ll offend a lot of people by saying this, but I think it’s all nonsense.” Thankfully Rooney wasn’t the type of man to push his beliefs onto everyone else.

Brad Pitt

Though Brad Pitt had the looks and the body of a godly figure, he most definitely doesn’t believe in God or any type of heavenly being. In a 2009 interview, he quickly answered no when asked if he believed in God. He then went on to say that “I’m probably 20 percent atheist and 80 percent agnostic. I don’t think anyone really knows. You’ll either find out or not when you get there, until then there’s no point thinking about it.”

Helen Mirren

Helen Mirren is one of the more interesting atheists on the list. Instead of believing in a God, she believes in more fairytale-based ideas. In a 2011 interview she said “I am quite spiritual. I believed in the fairies when I was a child. I still do sort of believe in the fairies. And the leprechauns. But I don’t believe in God.”
