Five years ago, most of us had no idea who Tamar Braxton was. (Some of ya’ll had the album but most of you didn’t.) Well, all of that changed when “Braxton Family Values” hit We TV. Now, when you think of the Braxton sisters, Tamar’s name must be a part of the conversation. While Toni sang her way into our hearts. Tamar chatted her way in our affections and sometimes our nerves. Whatever the case may check out the catch phrases that made her famous.

Get Your Life
When one of her sisters was disillusioned or behaving in some type of morally reprehensible fashion, Tamar is always there to let them know the deal and encourage them to do better. Before Tamar folks probably would have said “get your life together,” but why get caught up in unnecessary words. But don’t take my word for it though… watch Tamar explain what “get your life” means to her.

You Tried It
With Tamar’s mouth and attitude it’s no surprise that people often attempt to correct her. Sometimes they go about it in a very blunt way; but other times, they try to sneak a little criticism in under a thin veil of sly shade. But you’re not going to get one over on the youngest Braxton. She knows when folks are coming for her throat.

She, Me, Her
If anyone is vain enough to refer to themselves in third person it would have to be Ms. Tamar. What better way to assert your diva status than to speak about yourself as if you’re someone else entirely. In case you’ve never heard her use this phrase, check out the video above.

.com
Of all of Tamar’s witty catch phrases, the .com series is her most popular. It’s so simple, you’re probably wondering why you hadn’t made a name for yourself by throwing a .com on the end of every declarative statement. There have been several .com moments but my favorite by far was the time Tamar was describing a dish her mother made: “That tasted like a$$ crack.com”

Have several seats
The look of crazy on Tamar’s face in this .gif is just too much to handle right now. She’s looking like an exaggerated cartoon character above but this extra face also lets you know the sentiment behind the statement. “Have several seats” is reserved for the folks who are standing for the wrong principles. In case they think they’re vilified, a quick “have several seats” quickly lets folks know that you are not in agreement with their stance.

Boom!
When you’ve said something particularly poignant and you want to make sure the person you’re speaking to receives the message, polish it off with a BOOM and they’re sure to know you’re serious.

Doo Wop Pop Pop
When you can sing like Tamar can sing, as much as you would like to be there to support your sister, it must feel like torture to be singing background vocals. Especially when you feel and believe you’re supposed to be center stage. And in an attempt to express that frustration, Tamar came up with another catch phrase: “Doo Wop Pop Pop.” When she put it like that, it makes being a background singer sound like the most boring job in the world–even though countless artists got their start there.

That Ain’t The Move
Tamar positions herself as a bit of a perfectionist. Who knows her stuff. Whether it’s what notes to hit, what steps to take in her choreography or just general etiquette. And since Tamar has this wealth of knowledge, she’s quick to share it with others when they happen to lose their way.

Won’t He Do It?!
If you’ve been to church a couple of times, you might recognize this turn of phrase from the house of God. And that’s exactly who Tamar’s talking about when she says this. She usually uses this phrase when she’s expressing the fact that she’s grown or matured in some form or fashion that would be surprising to those who know her the best.
