Well before Mary J. Blige declared No More Drama the title of her album and philosophy of her life, the R&B songstress dated Cedric “K-Ci” Hailey, of the 90’s group Jodeci, for six years. There was fighting, abuse and jealousy, amidst Blige’s own private battles with drug-addiction, alcoholism and depression. An appearance on British TV show, The Word, would result in heartbreak for Blige, after she proudly declared her engagement to K-Ci, not knowing that just one week prior he’d dismissed their engagement as rumor – on the very same show. The couple split in 1997.
