After seeing some recent photos of Madame Raven Symone, we had to give it up for the girl- she looks GOOD. She’s always been a gorgeous woman, but looking at her lately- we can say for sure she is in her prime. Hair flowing, a sleek shape and skin clear as day…the girl from the Cosby show, the teen from the Disney Channel is far behind us. After taking a little break away from the red carpets and small screen, Raven has re-emerged looking like a knock out. Raven’s hiatus shows that spending a little time off the radar can definitely be a good thing. So here are a few tips on how to go underground and re-emerge a better you.
Pull yourself together: the first step to getting to a better you start with realignment. Get your mind right by giving yourself the spiritual exercise it needs. Get your e-books, webcasts, meditation mp3s- whatever you need to center yourself and clear your mind. Take the time to tune out the clutter and get back in touch with yourself. There is no way you can make your way up when you can’t feel the next rung on the ladder.
Increase your reps. If you’ve been doing the same routine every time you hit the gym, eventually keeping it tight gets harder. Add another rep of twenty to all your strength training exercises and splice up your cardio with some interval training. Taking your workout up a notch can have some big results over time.
Invest in the classics: Sure, times are hard, but buying cheap pieces that are flimsy is not the way to go. Instead of buying in bulk, buy the classics. The blazer, the shift dress, the perfect day-to-night pumps, the everyday bag. While you may end up with fewer pieces, you’ll have ones that will turn heads every single time.
Paint yourself the way you feel: Stop Googling that look you love- get it for yourself. It’s easy to get trapped in the rut of routine, but breaking out of it can do you some good. So try your nude lip, your long layers, whatever it is you’ve been wondering about. Unless you start manifesting the way you see your best self inside, no one else will.
Stick with it: one of the biggest mistake ladies make as they begin to see themselves changing for the better is to forsake the practices that got them there. After 30 days, you’ll probably feel great, after 60 you’ll probably look great too. But making a commitment to stick with it for 90 will make your better habits a lifestyle. Make a real commitment to getting fly and staying that way.
