15 Celebs Who Are Active In This Year’s Election, And Some Who Are A Bit Too Active (We’re Looking At You Donald)

Clint Eastwood

Clint Eastwood was probably the most notable speaker at the Republican National Convention for his infamous empty-chair-bit-that-was-supposed-to-be-him-talking-to-President-Obama. Whew!  Too bad he really made a fool of himself in the process. Of course, Clint showed his support for Mitt Romney and had everybody talking.

Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington was one of many celebrity speakers during the Democratic National Convention. Her speech emphasized protecting women’s rights.

Donald Trump

Business mogul Donald Trump has fired President Obama (in his mind) and has endorsed and praised Mitt Romney since day 1. Crazily enough, he’s only donated about $2,500 to Mitt Romney’s campaign, though he’s helped with getting fundraisers organized. And of course, Trump has been one of the loudest birthers calling for President Obama’s birth certificate.

Flo Rida

Flo Rida hasn’t outwardly spoken about supporting one candidate over the other, but he has pushed an extremely important issue: getting more younger people to vote. In a recent interview he expressed his want to host a similar campaign to Diddy’s Vote or Die in 2009 for this year’s election. You’ve only got 33 days to go, buddy!

Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria is the co-chair of this year’s reelection campaign for President Obama, and her speech at the Democratic National Convention about going from flipping burgers at Wendy’s to making enough to pay higher taxes as the 1 percent was definitely touching and meaningful.

Kid Rock

Kid Rock was one of the many musical performers during the Republican National Convention. His song, “Born Free,” has been heard at several Republican rallies.

Tracee Ellis Ross

The former “Reed Between The Lines” and “Girlfriends” star has been very active, trying to push young people to vote through her social media, and actually hitting the road as a volunteer for the Obama campaign. The most important issues to focus on to her have been health care and education in this country.

Nicki Minaj

Though she’s finally admitted her rap about voting for Romney was a joke, Nicki Minaj’s comments definitely brought her all sorts of political attention. Obama claimed she was playing a character while Romney didn’t say much at all. While she isn’t active in the election, her comments spurred all sorts of comments from prominent political figures.

Kal Penn

Actor Kal Penn is another one of the co-chairs for the reelection campaign of President Obama. He hosted the DNC and made a speech as well, encouraging the younger generation to get out and vote.

Alexis Bledel

The former “Gilmore Girls” star, Alexis Bledel, appeared in a campaign video for Barack Obama encouraging voters in New Mexico to vote for him to show their support for a strong middle class.

Octavia Spencer

In late July, Oscar-winning actress Octavia Spencer visited a barber shop in Charlotte to stress the importance of voting amongst the African-American community as well as the benefits of voting for President Obama in November.

Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johansson was another speaker at the DNC. Her speech reached out to young voters and wholeheartedly encouraged them to vote, and while she expressed her approval for President Obama, she explicitly explained she was not telling any voters who to vote for. Just go out and vote! You can say that again, Scarlett.

Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman appeared at one of the many Women for Obama campaigns that have been hosted worldwide. Also,  during her speech in Las Vegas, she expressed the fact that President Obama can get re-elected without all of the trash talking that seems to fuel pre-election drama.

Vince & Linda McMahon

The WWE executive and his wife Linda have donated almost $160,000 to Romney’s super PAC and victory fund. Of course, Linda McMahon is running as a republican for senate in Connecticut.
