Where are these 90’s R&B male singers, you ask? Your guess may be as good as ours, but as a contrast to the popular TVOne hit reality series, R&B Divas, we would love to cast these men as our R&B Fellas.

Avant

After releasing a new single this year, a duet with KeKe Wyatt called “You & I,”  this gave us a reminder of the R&B singer, who sung the hits “Don’t Take Your Love Away” and “My First Love.

Case

Case has been missing from the music scene for a while, scoring hits in the 1990’s with “Touch Me, Tease Me” and “Happily Ever After.” Here, My Love in 2010 was his latest album, giving his fans time to yearn for another hit.

Jon B.

As one of the artists under the R&B label of “blue-eyed soul,” Jon B. captured our hearts and ears with his soulful sound to the tunes of his hits “They Don’t Know” and “Someone To Love” featuring Babyface. With seven albums under his belt, including this year’s Comfortable Swagg album, we look forward to hearing more from the artist.

Ginuwine

Ginuwine is a brand name in 1990’s R&B. Once you know his name, certain hits come to mind, like “Pony” and “So Anxious.” This R&B singer is gearing up to collaborate with the R&B/Soul supergroup TGT, which includes fellow singers Tank and Tyrese.

Sisqo

Dru Hill made their way to the scene in the late 1990’s as a Baltimore-native R&B group with the singles “Never Make A Promise” and “In My Bed.” The group’s frontman, Sisqo, made a name for himself as the bleach-blonde, dancing crooner who eventually broke away from the group to begin solo work and songwriting for other artists. With hits like the “Thong Song,” Sisqo has been under the radar of mainstream R&B for some time.

Kevon Edmonds

As the brother of famous producer/singer-songwriter Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Kevon did not go unnoticed in the 1990’s. After the group After 7 split, Kevon went on to make a solo career with songs like “24/7” and his second single “No Love.”

Rome

Rome is another name we haven’t seen in the R&B scene too often. He had classics like the single “I Belong To You (Every Time I See Your Face) and went on the release six albums, with his latest as far back as six years ago.

Donnell Jones

“Where I Wanna Be,” a remake to the Stevie Wonder classic “Knocks Me Off My Feet,” and “Shorty (Got Her Eyes On Me)” are just some of the hits Donnell Jones is known for in the late 1990’s. With his last single in 2011, we reminiscence over his singles from the 1990’s and wonder when the next one will drop.

Kenny Lattimore

Kenny Lattimore is not only known for his joint effects musically with ex-wife and fellow R&B singer Chante Moore, but also for his solo projects, like “For You,” one of his biggest commercial hits in 1997. With his divorce so fresh and his music career taking forefront once again with his latest project set to release soon, Back 2 Cool, we are looking forward to more music from Kenny Lattimore.

Craig David

Craig David had much commercial R&B success with “7 Days” and plenty of award nominations from his five albums and greatest hits compilation, which makes us wonder when’s the next time we will hear from the Southampton, England native.

Joe

Away from his stunning good looks, Joe is an R&B singer we love to hear more music from. Many of his singles from his ten studio albums are staples from our late 1990’s and early 2000’s, like “More & More” and “I Wanna Know.” After The Good, The Bad, The Hot album of 2011, we are waiting for Joe to surprise us with another Hot hit once again.

Tevin Campbell

From 1989 to 1999, Tevin Campbell’s work stayed consistent, with “Can We Talk,” “I’m Ready,” “Just Ask Me To” and other singles. Nominated for five Grammys and two American Music Awards to no avail and his latest album being a compilation of his greatest hits in 2001, Campbell’s music has been missing for quite some time.

Keith Washington

We haven’t heard a hit from this artist since 1998’s “Bring It On” and “Kissing You” in 1991, and Keith Washington is another R&B male crooner that needs another hit on the radio for our listening purposes.

Al B. Sure

Al B. Sure is known for many things, like fathering the stepson of P. Diddy, but his music is just as notable. Back in the late 1980’s rolling into the 1990’s, Al B. Sure released his staple “Nite and Day.” His music career has been on hold since a brief comeback with one single in 2009.

Jesse Powell

Jesse Powell’s hit “You” was a pop and R&B sensation, sitting on the charts high off of his 1998 album ‘Bout It. The album Jesse in 2003 is the last compilation we received from the artist, wondering if Powell will hit the music scene again.
